Look at earth connection from loom to frame at rear of car. Even if it appears solid the copper cable can corrode internally and become 'open circuit'. Had similar problems with my '68. Ended-up running new earth wires to each back light in turn before solving problem.

Do we get any clues as to the type / age of vette you are referring to?

I'm no technician (thought I'd say it before anyone else does) but with mine those lights all come on when I hit the remote unlocking - is that working OK?

Hi don’t know if this might help you but I had a problem with my 98 vette a couple of years ago, the rear lights failed to turn on and then I could not get them to work again.

Also had problem with headlights before this as well, staying up/down and generally playing up.

I had just bought another vette and swapped the headlight switch between them to prove the fix after reading on corvette forum a post that described similar issues.

Sure enough problem went with the switch.

Sorry can remember if the rear running lights were out or door lights, but all 4 back lights were definitely out on my car.

Been fine ever since I replaced the headlight switch.

Hope you fix it

Cheers
