Heres the thing.heard about these coming out about 14 months ago.so been waiting for availability.ordered it up in august ($$$$)rate and all that.got it early october.
was going to start it at xmas, but got bitten by the end of oct.
this is on my 2001 c5 zo6.stock apart from headers random cats and corsa exhaust.
i wanted to do a few other jobs at the same time,cleaning/paint mostly so took a while
what with work and all.pics are good to let you know whats involved,..so lets ripp the thing apart.

LS2 90MM THROTTLE BODY

INTERCOOLER TANK AND PLUMING

YOU HAVE TO TAKE OFF THE FUEL RAIL COVERS,AND STORE THEM (NO ROOM)SO WANTED TO COVER THE COILS.HAD TO MAKE SOME COS THERE N/A.

ALL DONE AND POLISHED

MAKE UP A STAINLESS BYPASS TUBE

THIS INTAKE TUBE IS PLASTIC (PAINTED) THEY WERE WORKING ON A STAINLESS ONE
BUT AT THIS STAGE WAS RARER THAN A TAX REBATE.

AND THEN IT TURNED UP.$HIT I LIKE THAT.

K/BELL RK SPORT HOOD

NIGEL HOSES FROM www.speedflow.co.uk .some of it is overbraid just slide
it on your own rubber hose.the cost does add up with all the fittings but looks cool
and is easy to take apart. its been a blast . i can go a bit more boost, but would have to forge the engine if i want over 575/600 rwhp.as it is,its mental.hope to dyno soon.

Looks fantastic, great pics.

Perhaps you can bring it down to Fairmile one day, I'm sure the guys would love to look over.

Regarding dyno day I am talking with Charlie at Surrey rolling road to arrange a suitable date, will post here when that is.

That is a seriously expensive looking piece of kit. I like it a lot.

Only thing I would have changed is the intercooler core. I'd have installed 2 vertical cores with a gap between them and made them the length of the plenum. Pump the air into the gap and let it spread out. That way you'd have achieved a much bigger core surface area. They could have been angled into a 'V' shape or changed to suite the s/c outlet. You would use bottom feed water inlets and top feed outlets.

See the pic of the car from the front? Is that the new turbo stood by the doorway into the workshop?

I salute you Dave clap looks fantastic! You should start selling those fuel rail covers!

The fuel rails, are they part of the kit, I have some aftermarket ones but can't remember where I got them from? Have you upgraded your fuel pumps? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge in the car? If you don't I would definitely recommend one.

You are definitely inspiring me to get out and do some more work on mine this weekend.....that is after I have changed the rear brake pads on Shoebag's Viper (thanks to Ian Goss for lending me the special tool ), and changed the oil on the Blue Z06 and changed the oil on the Yellow Z06.

What one ??

Have to say, those kits look superb. And hats off to you for going for it. Im sure it will feel amazing on the road with all that torque....

Are you using the KB supplied tune ? and what about a clutch ? Surely the standard clutch isnt going to survive long with the sort of torque the KB will generate ?

HI MATEY
SORRY I WAS REF TO PETROL AND WHERE TO GET SOME ,WITHOUT SILICON IN IT.IT NOW SEEMS IF YOU STAY AWAY FROM TESCOS ASDA MORRISONS YOU SHOULD BE OK.
K/B TUNE YES.BUT MAY GO TO SOMEONE OVER HERE.K/B TUNE IS MORE FOR 91 OCTANE,COS WE CAN GET 95/98 OVER HERE ,MAY WANT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MORE BOOST 10 MIN PULLEY SWAP,AND MORE AGGRESSIVE TIMING.A FEW GUYS IN THE US HAVE STOCK CLUTCHES,BUT I DONT THINK THEY WILL LAST LONG.I WILL HAVE TO DO THE CLUTCH AT SOME STAGE,BUT NOT LOOKING FOWARD TO IT.LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF WORK.JUST WANT TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR NOW.PS ALSO WOULD PROB DO SOME MODS TO THE REAR END
AT THE SAME TIME,OUTPUT SHAFT/BRACE ETC.THEN THERES THE NEED FOR SOME STICKY TYRES.
I HOPE TO GET APROX 500 RWHP.OUT OF THE BOX.ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS IT`S A MAD B**stARD
WITH TRACTION ISSUES. LATER DAVE

Be aware that the 91 octane quoted in the states is quoted as Ron + Mon/2. Over here our octane is quoted as RON only. Found all this out while my engine was being tuned for Uk fuel over in the states. The difference in the way the octane is rated is what leads us (in the UK) to believe our fuel is much better, while it is only slightly better.

UK fuel is NO better than whats available in the US..

Their 93PON is roughly equivalent to 97/98RON that we get here in the UK. Some have even suggested their 93 PON is the same as V-Power.

"In most countries (including all of Europe and Australia) the "headline" octane that would be shown on the pump is the RON, but in the United States and some other countries the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, sometimes called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 8 to 10 point difference noted above, this means that the octane in the United States will be about 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere: 87 octane fuel, the "regular" gasoline in the US and Canada, would be 91-92 in Europe. However most European pumps deliver 95 (RON) as "regular", equivalent to 90-91 US (R+M)/2.

I purchased LS1 Edit for the Vortech but that was 4 years ago, its fallen way behind the competition. HPTuners for Corvette/Camaro LSx used mostly in USA and EFILive for Holden/Monaro LSx for the Aussies. They're both about the same price.

Send a pm to Ringram or Wortec...

Richard is the EFILive guy, and Paul@Wortec the HPTuners...

Im sure either will be able to assist. EFILive is probably the better option.
