One of my headlights has started making a noise after the go down - apparently it's the plastic gearing being stripped in the motor.

Before i send for a brass replacement gear from www.rodneydickman.com/corvette.html

Does anyone have a contact in the UK ?

thanks

My first port of call for that sort of thing would probably by Keith Besci at Eurovettes

There is someone who does service exchange motors? I found it somewhere on the net, but to be honest I had the whole thing swapped over for new I think it was about £80.00
there is a theory that it putting the lights up while driving that puts a strain on the motor as they go up and the wind catches the light cover putting a strain on the motor until they hit the stop point.

I wouldn't be too concerned about that - they're designed to do it, the number of times I've deployed the MX5 'Barn Door' air brakes and also the C4's amusing rotating lights at speed without problem I wouldn't personally be concerned about reliability (sorry - know neither of these experiences are C5's - but the early C4's are known to have weaker gears too)

Hi

Sorted - just bought a new motor and fitted in on Saturday. I'll send away for the gear replacements though - so if anyone needs a spare motor, I'll have one !

Bad timing as the HID conversion kit arrived on Monday, so could of down the 2 jobs at the same time !
