The build month and year will be on the sticker on the drivers side door in the form mm/yy.
Which year is your car? Also need the last 5 digits of the VIN assuming they are correct for your original posting. Then you have a "pilot car" i.e. a day one of the production year!

God, what a sad life we both must lead, on ph at this time of day.
I have taken the day off! you should be working so my pension can be paid from HM Gov.
This vin No is from a convertible stateside that I might be intersted in, and its a tortuous communication, so I might try Parklane.

Glad Parklane provided answer. You can decode your VIN from information at
www.gmfleet.com/image/pdf/2007VINcardcopy.pdf

My best estimate was you are looking at a C6 convertible built towards the end of April 2006! For precise build date I guess only records from the Bowling Green plant can tie individual cars to exact days.

One way I have used [a friend's Cadillac stretched limo in fact] was to enter the VIN on the acdelco website, here:

http://198.208.187.182/internet/Inter

Click on Automotive Parts search and then enter the VIN.

However, nothing was found for the VIN you posted: was it not complete??

Sorry - edited to add 'date of build' of course won't be in there... year will be though.

I typed in a "bum vin", it is of course 1g1yy36u665110028 and not 1gfyy-
Somebody obviously did spot the deliberate mistake!
Full marks to Ian.
I'll have to go back to Stephen at Parklane, ooops!

I expect that Stephen only used the last 8 digits of the vin, so the details that he gave you should be correct.
