Please feel free to respond to the scorn shown for American economy figures.

"As for how I drive, I'm afraid you'll have to come to one of our South Wales Pistonhead runs and try to keep up. After you've finished your homework obviously."

Nobody disputes your opinion - we have just provided facts that dispel completely the utter nonsense that has beeen written. It's a pity that people with absolutely no experience of American vehicles [judging by your profile] seems so confident of having such in-depth knowledge of these.

As a Corvette driver, I - like everybody else on this board - would be rich if we were given a pound for every time we heard this sort of rubbish.

It's gas guzzling, unable to handle, poor workmanship - and at last desperation - left hand drive. We've heard them all before, and will again.

But never mind. I am happy that despite everything I hear, I can go to my garage and find in it the very car - to the year - that I wanted when I was 16. No argument would convince me to swap it, although a new Z06 would be a nice stablemate .

Past cars:

1981 Ford Fiesta
I loved it, like a big go-kart.

Citroen AX
Boring and full of squeaks.

Ford Fiesta
Boring, didn't touch the old one.

Toyota Corolla GLS
I actually really liked this car, it was solid and had some go.

Acura Legend (US)
Shame it was an auto, but that 3L V6 could move that car!

Jeep Liberty (US)
I didn't like it to begin with but grew to like it a lot, really miss it.

BMW 330xi (US)
My pride and joy, broke my hart to say goodbye.

Ford Escort (back in the UK)
Heap of crap I got for 400 quid. Good riddance.

Honda Civic
Got this cheap, it's growing on me. Good run around car.

Next car will (hopefully) be some thing interesting.

I'd look at your own choice in cars before you lecture others - quite obvious you have no bloody clue what you are talking aboutblah

Citroen AX
Boring and full of squeaks.

A lot like its old owner then

I guess a true statement is that it takes two to tango - so maybe you were winding him up. I think Gixer has built a sufficiently strong case to say that your 'opinion' has a pretty weak basis.

I will agree with your own own comments that most (er, actually probably all!) your previously owned's are a bit pony.
