Maybe you should have held off on that 2nd C5 Z06 Nigel?
I would make very sure the "owner" has paid the import duties on it though...

How many times have I won a "no reserve" item on e-bay, for it never to materialise, or for the item to be withdrawn at the last moment.
There is in reality no legal redress for a dishonoured sale by the seller, and E-bay couldent care a s**t.They are quite open in admiting their inability to enforce the sale.Their only interest is in the seller and hence their commision irrespective of the fact that the seller has welched (how I hate this term!!)
I even once had a seller that dishonoured the sale asking me to agree that "we had agreed not to proceed" so he/she could avoid the E-bay commision- bloody cheek!, and they can give you a negative feedback!
Stay away from the sellers without history.

that zed-O-six is bad azzed looking:
many know that I'm not a fan of the C6 styling, but the Z06's increased width really changes this styling in to a mean machine.
I think it would be cool of one of the Pistonheads gets that car. I am curious about the costs involved in buying a new Z06 in the UK... lets say a fully loaded Z06 in the states stickered at $75,000; what would the US dollar price be to buy a brand one new - already in the UK ?

Buying a Z06 staeside at $75k.
Assuming a current spot rate of $1.96 (currently attainable), give a base purchase price of £38,250 (approx).
Shipping/handling/paperwork etc add a further $1150, so the current total becomes in the region of £38,850.This excludes the cost of getting to the port of exit on a ro-ro ferry (limits your choice of locations re both shipping/purchase.
On this total price, HM will rqeuire a further 27.5%.
The price now becomes at least £49500+/- (be aware that HM will not be using such an advatageous spot rate and will have set the rate on a monthly basis.
To this price is a further SVA conversion/road tax costs etc of say £1500, so the total "on road" costs become £51/52k without the 3 year warranty.
Since you can source a new european model yourself for slightly more, the maths become less attractive.
The current best deals would appear to be either "new" 06 cars, or pre-owned 06 cars from my current research of available US cars.
