Hi
I have an 06 Z06 which I want to import into the UK. Apart from having to change the rear indicators from red to orange is there much else that needs altering? I think its a euro spec car as, although but I got it in Dubai, the warning labels etc are in English/French and it has the Kilometre dash etc.
Any help would be appreciated!

The "kilometer dash" as you call it is actually Miles or Kilometers it depends on one of the settings on the DIC (Driver Information Centre) so that is a non-issue as all you need to do is change the setting which should be detailed in the owners manual or I'm sure one of the C6 owners will jump in here and tell you how to change it.

As long as the DLRs (Daylight Running) lights are not amber you will be okay and also as long as you have indicator side repeaters on the front wings and a rear foglight with an illuminated switch and the tyres are "E" marked and you have the restrictor inside the fuel filler neck (this is fitted as standard) you should be okay.......phew!
Oh the other thing you will need to check is that you have the FMVS (Federal Motor Vehicle Standard) sticker on the rear side of the pasenger door as this means that the SVA test will only check the few things I have mentioned above.

I beleive the Mid East models r very similar to euro, if yours has the headlamp washers for your HID,s then there should be little to change. If you need more specialist advice re sva speak with Ian Goss of Ian Goss Services on - 020-8391-9090. Good Luck

OK thanks guys, I do have the headlamp washers so hopefully it'll be OK. At least I have had the car for 6 months so I don't get the import duty etc, makes it a real bargin!

If your car has the 300k speedometer its a Canadian spec. If its 200 mph with the E/M setting on the DIC its a standard spec.

You need Brit headlamps (LH Rule of the Road T85s). THe stock lamps will adjust but they're not too good in terms of brightness. Also you need Euro tails to give the amber function, side indicators, white sidelights and a rear fog light. If its Middle East spec make sure your tint is no worse that 15%

Apart from that just the pain of getting through customs, SVA, MOT and registration.

Yeah I thought I might need the lights changing. As for SVA/MOT etc that should be OK as final destination is the Isle of Man and you get a bit more leeway there than in the UK, ie only needs an MOT/SVA if more than 3 years old when imported to the Island.
