Gasoline prices in the US have dropped sharply; though I don't know how long it will last. Was wondering if this dip in prices was worldwide or just within the USA?

here's what I paid tonight per US gallon, regular unleaded, and it includes all taxes:

slightly better octane was $1.92 per gallon, and highest octane was selling for $2.02 per US gallon.

Its about 87p a litre for normal unleaded here at the moment, rough calculation puts that at $6.75 per US gallon. Its too early in the morning for arithmetic like that though so someone had better check it after a coffee.

Yes, I calculate it's around $6.50 for a [US] gallon. The prices are similar in the rest of Europe, I'd guess within 10% either way.

Thanks Mike, I was relatively happy today until you showed your fuel prices against ours...

I thought I heard someone claim that in England - the prices on the petrol pump - are pre-tax... is that true ?????

and if so, do you pay the taxes right there at the filling station ?

N0 the rip off price we pay at the pump is nearly all tax thanks to King Blair and his gang of dick heads
