ie One of these...

Without going into too many details I have managed to completely stuff up one of my rears, thanks to a rather swift sideways connection with a kerb banghead
I'm hoping and praying that I've not screwed up the suspension, but I will get it checked out.

I have Castleford American checking on a new wheel for me.
I have tried Eurovettes... Waiting call back.
I have posted in Wanted on CCCuk
I have a potential used one on ebay in the US, but I expect shipping / customs to be a pain, and I'd like to get one sooner rather than later.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Or even better, one in their garage. (I'll come pick it up )

I would try Chris Graham if I were you as he is bound to have a spare wheel.

Chris has got a spare one, but it's a front.

He has got 4 refurbished C5 Wheels, that look very good. (I spotted them on ebay last week)
But I like the polished look and would rather keep it.

You may need to watch out for the "offset" of your new wheel. On some designs of C5 original equipment wheels there is a different offset for the Euro market as opposed to North America. Not sure if it applies to your wheels but you wouldn't want to end up with one of each. Exact part number match should avoid any problem.

Try calling Paul at North Hants Tyres as they sell the chrome 5 spoke C5 wheels.

The number is 01252 318666

Thanks Guys...
I found one on ebay in the end for a couple hundred bucks and $125 for shipping.
Ok it's used but it's still nearly a third of the price of the best quote I had from this side of the pond.
Which was Claremont. thumbup

Cheers

Just have to suffer another 10-12 days without my baby.

HA. git.

Why d'you think I didn't mention anything on the S2k forum. lol

At least the suspension and the disk brake stood up to more abuse then the S2000 did.
AND it felt like a harder collision as well.

Get that Z06 Rich.
You know it makes sense.

Right, this is lovely ... get this.

On the Wednesday I was working from home, so took the opportunity to get my rears replaced with two brand spanking new Bridgestones, at my local (1 mile away) tyre centre.
Did a good job.
I got up on Thursday to head into the office and it was VERY frosty and icy. (Nearly landed on my sr$e just on the drive)
Obviously I was very concerned about taking the Vette out in this weather with brand new (unscrubbed) tyres, so first chance I got (local industrial estate) I turned the traction control off and spun the wheels for a bit to warm them up.
Then forgot to turn the bloody TC back on again didn't I silly
Very next roundabout, saw a traffic light in the distance turn to green, accelerated a bit more than normal, .... end of story. jester

Must have been some diesel on the road or something.

Oh - I thought the diesel was model specific

The traction control thing's probably a good lesson!

Just an update on the wheel guys.

I ordered one from this seller on ebay
http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsa

For $200 + $125 shipping, then had to pay another £30 to our Gov the end. rolleyes
Still a better deal than I could get over here.
The wheel IS used but 90% Perfect.

Gary was very helpful, even though this was his first time shipping to the UK it went without a hitch.
I would recommend him if anyone is wanting a wheel.
...

Any wheel by the looks of it.

Well. The wheel is on, the tracking has been re-adjusted, and the car is fine.

It did take a hell of a whack at 90 degrees on the rear wheel, and apart from bending the wheel all that happened was the tracking was knocked out by 1 degree.

Amazing just how tough these cars are.
