Have a test in Z06 tomorrow should be interesting
Discussion
Well it was tractable, docile, manoeuvrable, understated, the gearbox was exemplary....then I pressed my right foot down and it was simply downright awesome. My Z06 is extremely quick- but the new Z had all that power and more but with no drama.
Test driving any car in West End London on a damp Friday afternoon is never going to be easy but I felt that the C6 was smaller and much easier to drive in heavy traffic. The clutch didn't need immense effort to use and the gearshifts were as good as any car I've driven. Now, I know that Stratstones have put a new 'box on the car and really carefully reassembled the shifter but compared to mine (which has a Breathless short shift lever) the difference was incredible.
I've not yet learned to love the new shape and the silver colour is possibly too subtle for a Euro styled supercar imho, but I couldn't really fault the car. I went out on the drive hoping that I wouldn't like it and that I could bolt an ATI Procharger on my Z without guilt and happily blow everyone into the weeds. But like all well laid plans things go wrong and, damm it, I really enjoyed driving the 6....
So if I really save my pennies I'll have this one

Still no time to do my opinion - properly, most of above spot on though. my run was in dry on sat - blasted down A4, did some burnouts with the horrible TC off. Mega piece of kit, maybe a tad wide - but to be honest all car enthusiasts should be breaking the door down to get their hand on these things. More later.
Don't get the whole shape problem - it is better than the c5
I want one - but TVR is almost as Quick just have to work it a bit hard.
Prefer car a bit narrower. If had cash would get one though. Just bought a racer to rebuild which kind of kills that!
Compromise if i did not like the occasional roof down blast would be (for me) a C5 Z06 with a blower Magnason (easier and pretty cheap) or Vortech, or 383cu in. Blowe would give easy 500bhp+
Stroker a tad less but alot more involved. Magnason - could be done at home in a weekend easy.
That way have power but a bit narrower with less grip - which is what I like.
