Hiya

Haven't recently discovered the problem of finding the Eagle EMT runflats in the UK - i bit the bullet and just swapped to a Euro spec tyre and opted for Toyo Proxes T1-R's

I did a similar swap from runflats on my Works Mini and was amazed at the difference and the US forums seem to rate them pretty highly as well
It's been a massive improvement to the Z06.

A huge increase in grip, improved handling, traction, tyre noise, ride and they look better and have a rim protector (very useful) - yes i know they're not run flats and i'll have to keep a couple of cans of tyre weld in the boot - but from experience run flats puncture are more prone to punctures than normal tyres and you can't repair them.

However in case anyone needs a set of partially worn Goodyears Eagle F1 EMT's
Rear P295 / 35ZR18 x 1
Front 265/40ZR17's x 2

I have some in my garage

hey

yep C5 Z06
had to order them - but next day delivery and fitment
Fronts 275/35ZR18 99Y RF
but they only have a 315/25ZR19 and it should be a P325/30ZR19 for the rears - i think they would fit OK but yr reducing the foot print a little

here's the toyo product page

www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=products&product_id=2

might be worth contact Toyo directly though

I've always had good results from Toyos on other cars.

But what do you do if you get a flat?
Call the AA I guess. ???

Don't all C5 Z06's come from the factory with non runflats and goo and compressor kit in the boot? My 2004 certainly does.

I rate the Toyo's very highly. I've got the R888's on my racecar and they are superb.

i think Toyo's are very good as well
I've got Bridgestones S03 on the 930 - which is another great tyre - but fairly soft and i go through rears every 6000 miles - and on the Z6 i'll bet that would be down to 4000 miles !

I hear ya, but that would screw the tyre pressure sensors.
Not sure how I'd feel about that

How many flats do you get?

For me in my wonderful driving life it would have been better to ditch spare tyres and carry a spare engine or gearbox...

well my sensors (if they exist on a C5 Z06) didn't say i had a hole the size of a golfball in the side wall !

Mind you - i realised pretty quickly

C5 Z06 doesn't have tyre pressure sensors.

Yeah, again I know what you mean.
I'm 40 and I've probably had to change the spare maybe three times.

It'd be just my luck though. The first month I run without run-flats I'll bleeding get a puncture.

Mind you ... There's also quite a saving. ????
Bridgestone RE050 £225
Toyo Proxes T1-R £180

And I need a couple rears. rolleyes

I've had alot of punctures - but only on run flats - never on normal tyres !
i really recommend the Toyo's - i know there not the greatest name but Toyo really went out to develop a quality tyre to raise brand awareness - and I'm running them now of two cars - but the porsche is still on Bridgestones S03's
