Am I right in thinking that suitable "pucks" can be sourced from BMW, since they were used on some of the 3 series models (dont know which versions), and could be left in place permanently.
Anyone have this info, or have used them?

Dunno, but give Ian Goss a call he's got plenty. I'm sure he'll give you a better deal than BMW. His numbers 0208 391 9090 / 07718 900 215

HI THERE YOU ARE RIGHT IN THINKING THAT PUCKS FROM A BMW WILL FIT YOUR C5
AND YOU CAN LEAVE THEM IN PLACE
THE MODEL YOU ARE AFTER IS ANY BMW E36 3 SERIES
4 OFF AT YOUR LOCAL DEALER SHOULD COME TO ABOUT A £10.00

BMW part number is B51.71.1.960.752 Jack Support E36.

I paid around £11 for 4 - they clip on and stay in place.

Have now found an image for the specific part number.
I assume that they will fit both a C5 and C6 and fit into the transportation locking points using the splayed forks?
Anyone have an image of these in situ?

Lots of thanks.

Another useful technical site, not a substitute for a workshop manual, but quite good, is www.idavette.net
What a sad life I'm leading.!

Might be worth using silicone to keep them in. I've lost 2 of them and I haven't ground the car out!

I had thought of machining my own using aircraft grade aluminium but creating a puck that could be bolted permanently in place, the dimensions probably 25mms thick X 65mms diameter with a central recessed hole for the nut corresponding to the choice of bolt, and the head located as per corvette forums etc.
Silicon would be cheaper!

The other option is the pucks from Elite Engineering

A little expensive but works of art

I think the idea is you only put them in when you are about to jack up the car........

Not according to Ian, they are designed to be left on the car. It's just that they don't stay on mine...

Yup the BMW ones from the S3 fit the C5 perfectly, not that I have driven anywhere with them fitted. Cost me £zero although I suppose I ought to give them back to Rich driving

Nooooooo - the ones you borrowed are the very expensive alluminium ones from Ecklers - they don't stay in place so if you could avoid driving with them in situ I'd be very grateful.
