Victory Red C6 Z06
Discussion
Earlier this year I ordered one of these in Germany - because the one I have on order with Stratstone will not be available until next year.
The German-supplied car was supposed to arrive in time for a "Driving Adventures" trip to the Swiss and Italian Alps (thoroughly recommended by the way)in August this year. It didn't.
With the clock ticking, we snaffled another one "Just in Time" in Germany - and have not regretted that decision at all !
The first German car we ordered has now arrived at the dealership. I am not required to take it and they will sell it in Germany if noone here wants it.
For info, this is a full spec 2007 Victory Red with Black interior C6 Z06. They are holding the price at the figure they originally quoted me. It carries the full GM 3 years warranty and would cost about £59,000 VAT paid once in the UK. I do not intend to make any margin on this car - other than perhaps a good dinner for 2 - and I can advise how to buy and bring the car back to the UK.
Would anyone here like more info ? If so, please e-mail me direct "Off Forum".

Thanks for the advice, chaps. And thanks Jagman for the mail.
Problem I have is I had pretty well made up my mind to get an AMV8V because I just simply love the cr*p out of them. I already have 2 vettes and a monaro. Been on the V8V list for nearly a year now. The ZO6 is such a very special and insane motor car that now I aint sure. Maybe I should just get both?
I hope one day soon I will wake up having decided ! Until then, I have my current stable to keep me amused, so no hurry. I am planning an extended test drive in the Aston, and will test a ZO6 soon. Maybe that will help?

Er, yes it will. You will not look twice at the Aston after having sampled Z06 power!
I know you want to keep the V8 theme going, but apart from the looks, I do not see the point of the AM V8. It's not fast and it doesn't handle that well. And as for buying new, they are depreciating sharply at the moment!
Tend to agree with Godzilla. The Aston V8 Vantage looks and sounds sounds really good - but so does a Z06, which costs some £20,000 less and which would destroy the Aston on pretty near any road - and especially on a circuit.
The only two things that an Aston may do better than a Z06 is a leather interior and the fact that the badge includes membership of a pretty exclusive club - which won't be any more fun than the Corvette Club. If you spent £10,000 trimming a Corvette in leather, there really would be no competition. Oh yes, as a further clincher, check the price of servicing and spares. Ian Goss says a Z06 is £250 to service per annum. That's 2 and a bit hours of Aston Martin labour charges ! Next, check the depreciation. Stratstone are planning on importing something between 10 and 20 Z06s in 2007. Aston will probably build 10 times that many V8 Vantages in 2007. Which car is likely to suffer the greater percentage depreciation ?
You could do worse than buy a Z06 and then spend £6,000 to £10,000 of the money saved with a club like Equipe 25. You could then experience most of the Supercars - not just an Aston V8 Vantage (Supercar ?)- rather than own any of them.
By the end of 2007, I rather think you would be perfectly happy with the decision to buy a German Import fully warrented Red Corvette Z06 for £59000 (or even a totally politically correct Stratstone-sourced one for £65,000 - if you are more comfy with that route)! Either solution would save anyone loads of money rather than buying a V8 Vantage.
Finally, check out EVO's COTY article in the magazine which has been out since Friday.
End of Z06 Advert !!
Best Regards, Chas

I cancelled my AM V8 order once I had test driven the Z06. There's just no comparison. Everything about the Z06 is better, other than the badge. Nice noise from the Aston though.

10-20? They told me 5-6 a year! Bang goes that exclusivity...
I think the figure is 10, split into two delivery groups, but I am sure Stratstone will confirm.

We have 11 allocated cas for next year, or 12 if you count Terence, who is immediately shipping his to Hong Kong.
This year I believe that 10 will have come in by the end of December.

Am I correct in thinking a lot of those 11 have already been sold?
Mine is among that list, anyone else here?

Lee did assure me there would be only 5-6 per year...
Me too, but then we only ever see the 'usual suspects' at the various events, so they must be hiding....
So when I get mine in the summer, will we become known as the 'ZO 6'?
Cheeky, Len, David, Eric, Chas & me.. or do Chris and Dean come out to play as well?
