Family are looking at a table orderly strewn with £400 worth of 100s of parts to build Craig's 1:10 R/C Touring car to race under BRCA rules. With electric (cheaper) engine these top 50mph out of the box; the fuel engines top 80. Mum & Craig are doing the rolling chassis (just completed the 2 diffs (4 wheel drive)) I am assigned body engine and electronics. Plan is to complete by Thursday for testing on Friday and qualification and 1st race next Sunday. We went for a comptetive but not too expensive XRay chassis but went a lot higher (2nd hand) for a computerised proportional control unit.

Hey ! I have an HPI RS4 3 Evo 1/10th scale R/C race car, and the body is a C5 Corvette, done exactly to match my C5 in torch red. Hadnt mentioned it before as I thought I was the only one! I have a .15 Glowplug (Nitro) engine in mine and its pretty damned quick. Also have a Traxxas Revo Monster Truck which is a real hoot. Good luck with the build!

Thats almost identical to mine! - If I knew how to post a pic I would. Only real difference is that mine has a hole cut in the roof and screen to cool the engine, and I have one of those new RC systems that runs on 2.4GHz so dont have the antenna.
Now it seems to me, that makes 3. Why dont we all meet up for a Vette showdown sometime.
That would be great. I wouldnt mind betting theres a few more closet RCers out there, or at least a few who could be converted!

I have what I thought was a 1:12 low tech C5R R/C model in the late 90s grey/black livery. But checking it out it is the same length as the 1:10 Dodge I have bought and the wheel arches are in the right place, so it will be appearing on the 1:10 chassis!

In the UK, I could only find a C6 body, but tower hobbies in the US do a C5 body, 1/10 scale, in clear lexan. You can paint it up any colour you like and add whatever decals you think appropriate. I ordered 2 via their website, one to use (and destroy!) and one to keep for looks. When I get my ZO6 I will just swop out the body!
