I had a great time at Bruntingthorpe yesterday in the company of some Aston Martin owners and succeeded in my mission of a) impressing the hell out of them with the Z06 and b) finishing off my very worn rear tyres!

In fact the left rear was down to the canvas, so I felt it wise to let Ian Goss have the car straight away and with Steve "eric the brave" Borland kindly volunteering to give me a lift back, we delivered both the car and all the LPE bits that Steve imported for me to Ian's this morning.

Last I heard, the American Racing headers were already nearly on the car!

So in a couple of weeks time, my car should be the first 616bhp Lingenfelter C6 Z06 in Europe. (There already is one exported to Russia, but that's not Europe yet!)

Those of you who want to know what LPE change to get the power from 505bhp to 616bhp, click here: www.lingenfelter.com/pacc6_ZO6camintake.htm

I find it incredible that they are prepared to stand by the conversion with a 3 year warranty (if the installation is done by them in Indiana)!

Maybe after this, Ian will become an official Lingenfelter dealer over here?

By the way, I hit an indicated 197mph on a flying lap at Brunters; I wonder what it will do with another 111bhp? eek

Totally stable, but it was only for a second or so!

For a car with no downforce, the Z06 is remarkably stable at high speed.

Nice one David - look forward to hear more about it.
I ran out of time to visit them while in Indiana, but will next time - a dealer gave
me their full 'blurb pack', sounds a great deal.

Our demonstrators never go above 70 - I don't know what your talking about. angel

The ex-press Z06 is on fine form now that we have it back, with the best gearchange I've experienced in a Corvette.
Steve and Adrian at the PDi centre must spend a little more time and care installing gearboxes than the factory...

"This [Lingenfelter] warranty does not apply to damage caused by detonation, overheating, misuse, incorrect maintenance, modification, abuse, racing, or accidents."

Now that's certainly comprehensive!

Well I guess I had better make an announcement too then.

SECOND LINGENFELTER Z06 IN EUROPE ON THE WAY...

Only because Godzilla cheated and sneaked his in the garage first "bah humbug" anyway, mine will be faster cos I've got the shiny wheels, less drag rotate

So does the LPE warranty not apply if Ian does the installation, David?

And did you get a better price because of not having Lingenfelter install it all? IIRC the price on their site includes fitting everything.

Correct on both counts! I only mentioned the warranty to show that this will (hopefully) not be a "tune it up to see what power you can get it to then blow it up" type installation.

Very stable -- I was in the passanger seat. The GPS said something over 180, but had relatively slow updating rate which didnt help.

You lucky devil!
I can't wait to see the results.
If you can run 10.85 on drag radials, then I wonder what this one will do?!

Possibly longer, if it takes too long to hook up!

That's not a comment on David but on how easy it is not to get traction with 512hp so imagine what it'll be like with over a hundred more.

Well I'm not into drag racing and certainly not enough to put a set of drag radials on so we'll probably never know!
Ranger is a serious drag racer, most Z06 owners can't get within half a second of his time anyway.

I will however put my car up for the next Vmax day and I fancy having a go at the PH "Power Lap" board too.

As I said in the other thread, what we Z06 owners really need is P Zero Corsas or Pilot Spoert Cups in our sizes; then the true potential of these already-awesome cars can be released...

Something over 180 is very very respectable at bruntingthorpe... on a typical Vmax day, thats 996 X50 type pace... to break a real 190+ it seems you need over 550bhp usually, so 616 would be rather good, especially given the Corvettes good aero properties, I believe I read 0.28cd sometime ago? Not sure about the Cda (the figure that counts, but im assuming this is equally impressive.)

I can definately see myself in a Z06 someday. thumbup Awesome cars, straight out of the box.

Well im still thinking about it to be honest, I was very impressed with the test drive and its def the fastest/best looking car IMO in the price range, the price of the demp I drove makes it very tempting

Ooh, ooh! So excited! Spoke to Ian Goss today and my car is almost ready!

In fact the engine is already done, they're just waiting for the wheels and tyres to be sorted.

So I'm picking it up on Wednesday morning. I hope it's going to be dry...
