Anyone had to have their C6 serviced by Stratstone yet if so where did you go for it?
As I know you can only go to them for service work if you want to keep up your warranty.

Mine is due in January, although if the roof is about to blow off (!) they might as well do both jobs at the same time.

To be honest, I don't know what the process is for getting the car serviced. Can you post it up here if/when you find out. Thanks.

Give us a call (0207 318 5323) or email and we'll point you in the right direction. If the car was supplied by Stratstone we'll collect and deliver foc and supply a loan car. Some of our centres are also qualified to work on C5s, Cadillacs and can do some tech 2 work on other GM products.

Stratstone's PDI centre in Milton Keynes has been looking after my C5 and will get my
future Corvettes based on their excellent service.

James, please can you remind me of the interval?

I ought to get round to an oil change too. Am I free to do that anywhere from a warranty perspective (I realise that sounds a daft question) or is it beneficial to have it done through you in some way anyway?

The service interval is 12 months / 9375 miles (15,000km!). If your oil life indicator will tell you if it needs doing sooner (jenkinscomp needed it doing at 7,000 miles).

Obviously you can change your oil as often as you like, but an authorised dealer needs to carry out the scheduled maintenance for the warranty to be valid. At the moment our Pdi centre is probaly your best bet for getting any work done, but in the not too distant future Weighbridge should be the London service centre.

I spoke to Steve Talbot yesterday at the Stratstone PDI centre for Corvette he seemed quite up to speed on everthing I needed & helpful So I will keep you posted once it has been serviced!
Just have to remember that they Stamp the service book in the correct place. My last Corvette was full of Vauxhall stamps!! Becuase the dealers were to tight to buy a Corvette stamp to put in the service book would you buy an Aston or Jaguar an upon collection find out they have stamped your book with a Ford dealer stamp!! furious It was always the little things that use to anoy me as a C5 owner hopefully Stratstone seem a bit better in Customer service. yes

Where's that? Or is it Weybridge in which case great?

I've heard recommended an oil change after 500 miles. I'm on 2000 or so.

Always get it done the first 1000 mile or 1500 max just for peace of mind.

Is the 500 mile change just for the engine on the Z06 or does that apply to all engines?

When mine arrives it'll be due an oil change by the time I get it home from Derby to Kent and use it a couple of times

Rob,

Hope you don't mind me asking - how come you're getting the car from Derby rather than London?

I just love the M1!

Seriously though, I arranged a test drive for the weekend when I was up there for the Donington Park round of the Le Mans Series and the dealership was close to the track.
As they'd gone to the trouble of getting a convertible up there to try and had set up for p/ex on my car, we did the deal there and then.
I knew I wanted one - but had to give LHD a try before ordering, just in case I didn't like it.
Didn't really fancy a test drive in London either, to be honest

Which centres are qualified on the C5?

Reading (London Road by the Volvo dealership)- 0845 833 0297 and Milton Keynes (Cranfield Road, near Wavedon) - 01908 288 658 are both set up to look after C5 and C6.

Currently Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester have C6 technicians who will be sent away for C5 qualification on the next round of training sessions.

Just sticking with the C5 query. Since these centres service C5's, do they also sell warranties (probably following a service and/or specific check with yourselves)?

At the moment we do not have a used warranty that individuals can purchase for their cars.
There are lots of established companies offering warranties following an inspection but Stratstone believe that these do not provide adequate cover and are in the process of creating our own used car warranty, which will hopefully be available in the new year.

Any news on the 5 year powertrain warranty that's standard on 07 cars in the US?
