Got a recall letter today from Corvette europe regarding the roof panel recall 06041 which will be done free by Stratstone Corvette it affects certain 05-06 MY cars so worth checking your car with GM if its an offical UK car you will get a recall letter from GM.
Anyone with a US import I think would have to pay to get the car checked out.
With the UK cars Stratstone will arrange getting the collected.
I don't think Z06 cars are affectecd, I am glad I bought an offical car if any recalls need doing at least you will be contacted and get it done free.
Bit like the C5 days with teh sterring lock recall!!

If it's to do with the panel flying off/delaminating, it most certainly does affect Z06s!
The Yank forums are full of complaints about this.

I'm not that bothered although mine is a black car (the most frequently affected).

If it shows signs of delaminating, I'll drop it into Stratstones.

Likewise, although I may drive it a few weeks as a convertible first!

Just out of curiosity, are 'import' cars (i.e. those without the 3 year warrantee) covered by recalls? scratchchin

Only Uk supplied cars will be covered by the Recalls you may be lucky if you bought one in europe maybe Stratstones can do the recall work FOC, but any US Imports will down to you to get work done unless the garage you bought it from may want to cough up the cash to get the recall work carried out! that will be intresting when you call them.. tumbleweed

If it's a safety recall, then provided you are on the register, the manufacturer should attempt to contact you and get the work done FOC I believe.

Not sure if the roof is considered a safety issue. For those following the car it sure could be!

Euro-sourced cars have the european wide 3 year 100,000km warranty and are covered by Stratstone for warranty work FOC so I guess the roof could always be covered under warranty IF it delaminates even if it is not recalled.

Thats what I thought on euro cars I know when I had the C5 they almost all suffered with the steering column lock recall but only on euro spec cars it was done FOC. If you think about it buying a US spec car nobody has your deatils if you did have a problem.
