Had this fitted last week to the mighty `Z` and its great! Been running with fuse pulled and did`nt realise how loud it was in the car, it actually seems quiet now when closed!
I think a couple of you have this switch fitted already. Is it my imagination, but it feels more torquey low down with the flaps closed, untill the 3500 revs, than open with the switch all the time?
I have`nt seen any thing about this anywhere else.
Cars running great and car`nt think of anything else I rather have..unless the Blue Devil / SS or what ever its going to be called makes an early showing!
Looked at a 575 the other day, always liked them, but apart from the interior ambience came away looking at the Z06 thinking how much nicer it was. The Ferrari looked heavy and bulky, where the Z06 looked hunkerd down and ready to do the business.
Any more progress on the engine tuning yet from the US? Have followed the tuned US ones 550+ at the wheels, but there seems to be a trade off with low speed driveability. Don`t think I could live with a `bucking bronko` everyday!
Is there a CAI for these yet? have spoken to a US tuner and for street use he says nothing yet. The ones that are around now he tells me `track use only`. They`re not good enough for every day driving.
Keep the shiney side up!

Hi Dean, did you fit the remote Mild 2 Wild one? That's what Ericthevetking and I have and it's brilliant.
Doesn't involve any drilling or wire running and adds the show off factor of being able to change the exhaust note from outside the car!

I personally feel it's quicker with the flap open all the time. In fact I'm sure I read somewhere that it needs the flap open to make 505bhp and would be a good 25hp down if it was closed.
As for low end torque, GM claim that the back pressure of the flap closed helps it a bit, but even if that's true (which I doubt), it FEELS faster open if only because it sounds so great!

As for tuning, I have bought 2 complete Lingenfelter 616bhp cam/CAI/header/ECM packages and they should be arriving late next week for me and Eric's cars. I'll do a full write up on www.auto-journals.com where you can already read my first Z06 article: www.auto-journals.com/s2/content/corvettez062.html

Are you coming to any events? Eric and I seem to be the stalwart Z06 owners who will turn up to the opening of an envelope!

If it isn't torrential, I am intending to get down to Goodwood tomorrow morning for the Americana breakfast.
