Hi - I have just joined the illustrious numbers of Corvette owners by buying my first C4 (1995) - still getting used to LHD and not being able to see any of the 4 corners of the car! (must get a cushion)

I wonder if I could try you all out with a couple of questions:

When I use the remote key fob to lock/unlock, more often than not the "security" warning light stays on after the ignition key is inserted and the engine will not start. It has taken me a while to work out that this is not a problem with the battery, connections to the starter motor, the solenoid etc etc and does not occur when I simply use the manual key to lock/unlock. I got there eventually!! and realised that this must be an issue with the immobiliser - anyone else had similar problems?

Secondly, I wondered if anyone had any recommendations on a reliable workshop in the Gloucestershire area (I live in Cheltenham) where I could get servicing and any other work carried out?

Thanks for your help and look forward to hearing from you all

I live about 10 miles from Cheltenham and use a company called Raceshack in Tewkesbury to do some of the work on my C5.
To be honest servicing a C4 was something I always did myself, so if you need a hand I am sometimes free at the weekends.

Firstly, a warm welcome to the world of Corvette ownership.

As regards your security light problem, if you get no joy here, try asking on the Corvette Club site (www.corvetteclub.org.uk) and have a look at the "how to join" section whilst you're there.......

Thanks for your helpful reply. As someone else has noted, there seems to be a problem with the Corvette Club site at the moment but I will try again in a day or two
