Seems fair to me - MUR 640 would command considerably more. Mind you if you think the chances of owning C6 ZOG are slim you would probably think the chances of owning a 1950s mini even slimmer
WELL, lets see,
that depends on which thread you were reading,£25K WAS a wind up but £4.5k wasn,t have a look at www.regtransfers.co.uk to find out whats happened to plate prices since Harold Wilson had Blairs job

Here's a list of auction prices achieved for "VET" registrations which may be helpful to you in achieving a sale; dates shown for most recent ones. These prices exclude buyer's premium and VAT which add about 25% on top of the published price. Auction prices accurately reflect the market as they are true selling prices, not just "asking" prices.
67 VET £6,000
1 VET £5,000
50 VET £4,400
9 VET £4,300 [2005]
62 VET £4,200
350 VET £4,100
7 VET £3,100 [2006]
VET 1J £3,100
911 VET £3,000
2 VET £3,000
4 VET £2,800
999 VET £2,800
11 VET £2,700
44 VET £2,400 [2005]
100 VET £2,400
12 VET £2,400
8 VET £2,300
3 VET £2,100
56 VET £2,000
A1 VET £2,000
5 VET £2,000
91 VET £1,900
6 VET £1,800
123 VET £1,700
321 VET £1,600
C1 VET £1,600
21 VET £1,500
10 VET £1,400
N1 VET £1,300
V31 VET £1,200 [2004]
S73 VET £1,200 [2006]
L1 VET £1,000
K9 VET £1,000
E1 VET £1,000
My recollection is that the "C? VET" sequence was not particularly expensive when DVLA sold them direct to the public. I'm sure you'll find a C6 owner willing to pay a market price for it not least because C5 VET is already on a C5. PH and CCUK classified's should do the trick. However, it's not a number which has particular value to anyone outside the Corvette community (unless someone's particularly proud of their Citroen) and that tends to hold back prices.
In the above list many of the VET numbers have a wider appeal in the animal doctor fraternity which boosts prices. I particularly like 999 VET in that contaxt.
Good luck with your sale.
