Does anyone have experience of changing the cart springs with coil-overs?
What happens to the ride, does it become even harder, but do you get rid of the lateral hop?

Vetteheadracer has done it on both a C4 and a C5, you might track him down quicker via the CCCUK website though.

I would love to know if it cures the lateral "Corvette hop", although it is not as noticeable on the Z06 as it was on my L98.

There's no intrinsic reason it has to be any harder though, that's down to which springs and dampers you use. But most people change to improve handling and that normally means firmer springs and dampers.

I have just got a set of coil over shocks for the front of my C3. The rear coil overs wont be available until the end of the year when I will get them. They should make a significant difference even if its only that I will be able to adjust both bump and rebound although the manufactureer does promise a lot more than that. If C5 experience is anything to go by you should be able to eliminate that by switching to conventional tryes instead of the runflats. I think the more flexible sidewall is simply better at keeping the tread in contact with the road.

My C4 was much worse than the Z06 in that regard and it was before runflats were invented!

I'll see how I get on at the Nurburgring before I look at suspension options. After all Jan Magnusson managed a 7:43 with everything standard!

Well, your C4 suspension was designed 25 years ago!! With modern Vettes you're going so quickly when the "hop" occurs it's all a bit unnerving. If past experience is anything to go by then ditching the runflats will enhance both handling and ride. Stiffening up your suspension is likely to worsen the ride and may still leave you with a hop if it really is a tyre problem. And you'll soon destroy a set of tyres at the Nurburgring anyway so it'll be time for some nice new ones!

Runflats are the devil's work. evil
