C5 coolant replacement - final info
Discussion
Thought I would just give you this as no doubt some of you will need to go there in the next year or so. When draining the rad I found I was getting anout 7.5 litres out of a 11.9 litre system. So after draining off the collant I had to refill and drain with water 3 times before putting the DexCool in. I saw a post on one the forums quoting 1.5 hours to do this job, I can only say that it took me several hours, closer to 4 and I probably should have put a 4th lot of water thru but it was dark and that would have meant getting up at dawn to put another cycle through before going to work. You can probably do it quicker if you are braver than me but I decided to let the engine temp drop to about 65 before redraining the rad (Ididnt have any appropriate gloves).
The benfit though is that whilst waiting it is an excellent opportunity to detail the engine bay, which after 5 years is now getting on for show room condition!
