Mild 2 Wild Z06 Exhaust on demand.

Imagine having the ability to turn your Z06 exhaust from MILD (exhaust ports closed) to WILD (exhaust ports open) using you OEM Homelink (found on your visor) or via the supplied remote (you get 2).

It arrived today and it literally took 2 minutes to fit. Just plug into the exhaust fuse socket, attach one wire to a grounding screw .... done!!

What a blast ... some friends came round today to admire the Z06. I fired him up and left him running. Then stood across the road opening and closing the exhaust valves with the remote control. They were amazed .... great party trick hehe

You've just gotta get one, what a giggle. Has it's practical uses as well of course. It's nice to be able to quieten it down a bit at the touch of a button for long distance runs...

Oh, here's the link http://nakidparts.com/id25.html

If your team captain lives 20 yards from you and you have a habit of returning home at 2am the night before match, it can be very useful indeed...

Correct, and the same applies doubly for those of us who are married and have dogs that bark and wake the baby if they hear your exhaust!

And more seriously, the exhaust makes an unbearable resonanty drone at cruising speed in 6th with the fuse pulled. It must be great to be able to press a button to return it to (very quiet) standard mode on the motorway.

I personally don't see the point of having it on a remote though. I prefer to have a button on the dash where I don't have to take my eye off the road.

Eric, have you tried it on your Homelink button? The euro cars don't have one.

WOW Cheeky .... you must have incredibly long legs to be able to do that from across the road

Dave, it only took a couple of days and I ordered straight from the website. Nope haven't tried the homelink button yet. I'll try and program that tonight.

Titan, congrats on the new ZED, I couldn't wait till OCT 1st so got an 06 number plate. Which now thinking about it is quite appropriate. What colour did you order?

Incidentally my valves are open all the time cos it sounds so cool. I'll only close them on long runs or if I arrive home during the early hours. I never fire up my 74 C3 after 11pm the elderly neighbours c**p themselves hehe...

mmmm what to buy now With 60K saved buying a ZED instead of a Ferrari I've got plenty of spare change

Damn, I think you and I are going to end up costing each other a lot of money!

I've gone and ordered one now! (did you have to pay extra to ship to the UK? I couldn't see anyway of calculating that.)

But in a gesture of oneupmanship, I also ordered these: http://nakidparts.com/id21.html

Judging by my Bedford outing, that statement is very, very true. (Although of course I wasn't racing...)

Are you coming to Bruntingthorpe on Sunday?
A very safe venue to start learning what your car can REALLY do.

Yes Dave I think you're right, we'll go broke loading up our ZEDS but boy it will be fun... and on that note, here's the link to the stainless Corvette lettering I was telling you about.

www.zip-products.com/Zip/productr.asp?pf%5Fid=X%2D1732&gift=False&0=dept%2Easp%2Cdept%5Fid%3D3481%26menu%5Fid%3D%26Tree%3D%2CC6%20Emblems%2C%20Decals%20%26%20Graphics&HSLB=False&mscssid=D6B1BB74BCD34E9295E3F3F6DE4A34DD

Lots of other little goodies on the zip-products.com site too...

As for the Mild 2 Wild switch there is no extra charge for shipping.

Not sure about Sunday, don't forget I'm a 'real' Corvette driver of 20 years experience. This of course means I can only drive in straight lines. I'm likely to make a dick of myself poodling round the track in a Z06 at 25mph then hitting 200 on the straights

Eric

That's why Bruntingthorpe is a good place to learn as there's almost infinite run-off and no barriers/tyre walls.
I'll be happy to take you out in mine for a couple of laps.

I just want you to sample what your car is really capable of. It's an amazing circuit racer as well as a decent drag car!

V8D, Yeah I gotta keep saying it, the Z06 is an awesome car. Look.. I know the other shapes are beautiful and are the coolest automotive art there is in my opinion. However, when you get behind the wheel of the Z06 you just keep wanting to go racing off in it. It's such a crazy big boys toy and such fun to drive plus it'll scare the pants off you too. Oh dear, this grin really has become permanent Mate, all I can say is "get one".

OK Dave ... you convinced me. I'll go along on Sunday. Hopefully it's not peeing down with rain. But I'm riding shotgun in yours first for a few laps so you can show me the ropes.. What time are you leaving? How long does it take to get there?

I hadn't seen this post until this morning....Stratstone dropped my car back off last night after it's first service and showed me which fuse to remove (bottom right hand corner, lift passenger side floormat & carpet to reveal) which we did with the engine running....sudden noticeable difference....I drove straight from my home to Canary Wharf along embankment, and the various tunnels along the way were alot of fun!

It's so simple to just pull the fuse or replace it I can't see the point in spending money on something that just does the same thing as your finger can, but hey so long as your Z06 sounds good it don't matter how you do it, right!

I would have agreed with you until I had to drive home along the autobahns and autoroutes. The drone in 6th gear with the fuse out is unbearable (and I'm used to very noisy exhausts).
And it's not always convenient to pull over to pull the fuse out...

I never get up early on a weekend!

I'll probably get going around 9:30/10am and will get there when I get there. From Lightwater I reckon it'll take 1.5-2.0 hours.

See you there!
