Where are people buying their C6 Z06's from?

Are you buying them UK main dealers? Importers?

Links and names appreciated!

There's only one main dealer - Stratstone of Mayfair.

You can have mine for £250k.

I`ve purchased from both the US and europe, first a Red Z06 and then just had my euro Yellow Z06.
In my experience, with good contacts, it was way easier to buy from the states.
E-mail me and I`ll tell you more. I know of 2 euro Z06`s right now. One`s Red and the others Yellow, both full options.
The only advantage of the euro cars is the warrantee cover. Cars from the states have zero cover.
P.S. These cars are very special and will live up to your highest expectations.

Oh please! Can I?!? Where do I send the check?!?

Dean, will drop you a note, although I'm pretty up to speed with US-imports. Nevertheless, if someone can save me the trouble, it's worth a chat. TIA

Evidently you didn't understand what that meant.

In English: it's very, very good.

A simple thank you would have sufficed.

Just brought mine back this evening from Germany. Black on black. Very quick car and I was "running it in"! (never took it above 144mph on the autobahn...)

I won't comment until it is all fully UK registered, but thus far it has been very straight forward.

The dealer I bought it from has another black one available now and a yellow in the next couple of weeks.

With a good exchange rate from a proper forex house, the car cost £56k, but there's the cost of flying out there, return ferry, fuel etc, but still under £57k.

I will be writing about it for my website www.auto-journals.com sometime tomorrow.

Neil Hobbs already has a journal about his Machine Silver Z06 on there. More are welcome, as indeed all Vettes are!

The advantage of a 3 year warranty is significant considering some of the issues our US friends are having and isn't there already a recall on US 2006 Z06s?

I also like the fact that there is no SVA, factory light conversion etc. compared to a US import.

As mentioned in another thread I am also now the proud owner of a car with a 320mph speedo! Beat that Veyron owners...

It isn't £250,000 good; in fact, it isn't worth a £10k premium over UK price, let alone your silly £185,000 imho

If you want a thank you, add value or relevance; if, however, you wish to be an opportunistic speculator, don't expect the same common decency.

Thank you to those that answered the question.

Cars are readily available in the USA at MSRP and with Duty, VAT, shipping, Marine Insurance, port fees and SVA, it’s still attractive. However, Stratstone also have 3 unsold cars for 1st Quarter 2007… so that’s another viable option.

It does amaze me at how few they are planning to import – it’s hardly a low volume car.

Nomis - you are clearly missing Cheeky's joke...
What he tried to say via a joke was that he wouldn't sell his newly delivered ZO6
unless it was for stupid money, i.e. he won't be selling period.

As for me, I am looking at both Stratstone and importing (via Europe options) for 2007.

Still only ever seen one on the road and that was in France last Sunday heading
to the German border, black - wasn't yours Godzilla was it?

Nope, I drove straight back across Germany, Holland, Belgium and France yesterday!

Took about 5 hours of driving, including 2 fuel stops and now I've got the car back home, it's fully run in.

First comments are that it is BLOODY noisy on concrete surfaces (i.e. most of Belgium and parts of the M25). You really notice the lack of sound insulation and those 325 rears really make a racket within that large fibreglass drum that is the rear luggage compartment.

But in 5th gear, and not even using full throttle, it is astonishingly torquey for overtaking.
Can't wait to try it out at 7000rpm!

Sat nav is good although I forgot to bring any CDs so I had to listen to German, Dutch, Belgian then French radio stations...

I looked at the Stratstone option but was too impatient to wait until March and I hate the shiny wheels which are a no-choice option on all UK cars (why?). Also with the other compulsory options a UK car weighs in at nearly £64k and I got mine here for about £57k.

If Stratstone allowed you to properly configure your car, i.e. paint, wheel colour, interior colours etc. then I could see why somebody would use them, but as you can't...

I suppose after a mere 18 posts on PH you can't be expected to have got a handle on how things work round here. Nevertheless, it's rather rude to roll your eyes at someone who's offered you some information if you don't. Cuban's been around a bit longer and seems to have understood what I meant perfectly. The car is a keeper.

Having written "There's only one main dealer - Stratstone of Mayfair", I'll accept your thanks

Take their 1Q07 assertion with a pinch of salt. My car was 4 months late, as did others seem to be, and only last month Stratstone was assuring me there was a 2 year waiting list. Don't count on them for accuracy of information about the car either; I had to put them straight on several errors, e.g. their "put Super Unleaded in it and you'll get the full 512bhp instead of the 505 they get in the US" (d-oh!).

Assuming I am reading your post correctly, are you saying that the only way to buy a new Vette to the spec that you want is to go to a European dealer?

They allowed me to configure mine exactly as I wanted it.

Is it just a matter of getting it done before they are forced to spec up their next set of 5 cars?

Cheeky, I may have a low number of posts on here but that doesn't make me a forum-virgin. If you are being sarcastic, show sarcasm using a smilie, otherwise the sub-text is lost.

As for thanking you for Stratsone of Mayfair, you'd be wrong. There are multiple Stratstone branches, all can supply a Corvette, for instance, I spoke with Reading and they were more than happy and capable of helping.

So thank you again for offering nothing new of value (that is how you show sarcasm )

Interesting. The Mayfair Stratstone must have been fibbing (or may subsequently have changed policy) when I was told it would be the only dealership offering the Z06. Either way, you had not mentioned Stratstone at that point so it was fair to assume that providing the name would have been helpful; otherwise, why would I have bothered?

Do please try and get along, nomis. You have continued being bolshy even after I provided the explanation that you would not have needed if, like Cuban, you had applied a little thought. At £80k, failure to get the point would have been understandable. At £250k, with a forum name like cheeky, it's a little obvious with no need for a smiley.

Not bolshy... just sarcastic

As for Stratstone, I was aware that they were being sold via Cadillac dealers (but appreciate the Mayfair heads up). It does seem they were telling you fibs as any Caddy dealer can supply them.

Still a lovely car and great value for money
