This is a great site. You can work out your BHP by entering vehicle weight and 1/4 mile time and vice versa!

Thought that some of your RWYB'ers might find it interesting

I've been playing with a GTech Pro lately - they've been out for a few years, basically looks like a cheap radar detector, but gives reasonable results for 0-60mph, 60-0 distance, 1/4 mile ET and terminal speed, plus BHP if you put your vehicle weight in.

Can't vouch for it's absolute accuracy, but it's good fun putting some science behind your vehicle performance.

I've got a GTech Pro as well but have never got around to using it in the vette as having modified it I don't know how much it weighs!

Take it to a public weighbridge Nige. Alternatively, if you know anyone who works on a weighbridge that'd work too (most factories/depots have them)

MPH and BHP are much closer related than ET and BHP for some bizarre reason.
You can almost estimate the BHP a car is making just from it's finish line speed and estimating it's mass.

Cost £6 at the Basingstoke one when I weighed mine. 1440kg with 1/3 tank of petrol, or 1510kg with me in it... well probably 1515kg now !!
