Many years ago the original Transit 'Supervan' ended up in private hands local to me (Hornchurch). Originally I think it would had a mid mounted ex GT40 engine/transmission set-up. This guy was putting a 302 in it as far as I can remember. This van if I remember had a 'sectioned' body and 'chopped' roof. It certainly made a number of track appearances and wasn't far off then F1 (late '60's) lap times.

That first Supertransit was the predecessor of supertransit II, I remember reading about in custom car back in the mid eighties or thereabouts. This one had a full formula 1 engine/suspension with just a thin transit looking shell.
Ah..... takes me back to metalflake C3's with extra large rear spoilers and slot mags with general grabbers..
How about a GMC van shell with full C6 ZO6 running gear underneath...

I wouldn't usually admit to this but in the early/mid 1970's I had a '68 Javelin with the then usual Woofies all round (monster 10" with L60's on the rear) jacked-up and with, wait for it, ocelot fake fur interior. There i've come clean and feel so much better for it.
