What would you pay for a C7?
Discussion
There are a few C7s on the market at the moment, some better than others. Once you take the 'salvage title' ones out of the equation, it leaves a couple of US 3LT Z51 with magnetic ride and a UK car. They are all around 2014-2015 with similar mileages - 10-14,000 miles.
Additional to that there is a nice convertible, low miles and 2018.
When I first looked at decent cars 18 months ago, a nice one could be had for £40,000. The going rate seems to currently be £47,500- £54,000.
What I want to be careful of is when it comes resale time. Many cars seem to take an age to sell leading me to believe: there are few potential buyers, the cars are not the right spec, the preference of auto vs manual, and some may favour official UK cars (though they have higher road tax).
Taking a straw poll before I take a leap, what would people value a 2015 10,000 mile C7 at with 3LT and Z51? Subjective I know, but some are dearer than others so sellers (mainly dealers) are holding a premium to them.

Tough question to answer its all about supply and demand I guess.
The prices of C7s in the States have gone way high just take a look at the forums and group discussions over there a lot of owners are selling just to make a nice profit after a couple years of ownership.
That's not happening over here (yet?) but the supply of imports must be drying up except for the salvage title ones you mentioned and I believe a lot of those are flood damaged cars.
So it seems to be a sellers market at the moment that seems a little odd as the C8 will soon be with us and already is in the U.S and a new model normally makes the older model depreciate faster as we all know.

Are the C7's for sale 7 speed manuals or the later introduced auto. Seemed to be a relatrive glut of manuals available but not many autos? - too many people asking sub £50K when they were (and bearing in mind 5 possibly 6 years old) perhaps sub £40K, maybe low £40's? - I know of one 'new' official 7 speed that came over here 'new' from Europe within the above price band 'back in the day'

I finally have a C7 in the garage. Took me a while to find the right car but got there in the end. A Torch Red 2019 MY Grand Sport 3LT, UK spec, 8 speed. Just over 4,500 miles. Fair price.
Suede and nappa interior with red and black. Heritage pack.
Even with 'just" 460 bhp, the power this thing has is more than adequate. It just seems to be happy in any gear with startling acceleration available from any speed. The feature where it drops to lowest gear it can (hold down left paddle) is interesting. Dropped into 1st gear at 60 mph quite happily and the engine was like thunder producing a sonic boom that could be heard some distance.
All mod cons too with HUD, speech recognition, easy exit, Android Play.
There were a few C7 Stingrays around but most seemed to be salvage title when sellers were questioned. OK for some, but not for me. This one came up on the market and it was less than 48 hours before I nabbed it. It was too good to pass on.
Joined the Classic Corvette Club and been made to feel very welcome. Lovely bunch of people.

That's great to hear. Many congrats. Sounds like you have a lovely example.
They are brilliant. I've had mine 2 1/2 years now and driving it is still an 'occasion'.
Have you discovered the 'performance shift active' mode when stabbing the throttle in sport mode? It holds on to a lower gear for longer for a while. (oh and you have to select the sport mode every time you start up - it doesn't remember the previous setting - think it's to do with emission legislation).
Also, I take it you know about your 'local-ish' dealer for servicing and warranty issues. Obviously, there's Ian Allan in the south who are great, but there's also https://www.partsusa.co.uk in Stockport who probably aren't a million miles from you and are an official Chevrolet agent.
Enjoy it, and if you feel it needs to be even more 'vocal', then AWE X-Pipe and Touring exhaust systems are a must ...! (you have the importers close to you, too - https://awe-tuning.co.uk )

Thank you. I bought the car through PartsUSA in Stockport and they have been really good both before and after. That will be home for parts and servicing.
Not discovered the mode you mentioned but will now take a look with great interest. Most of my driving has been in Touring but recently checked out Sport and Track (not that I would look to use Track on the road but wanted to experience the difference in the drive).
The car feels very cohesive and good to drive. The interior is much to my liking and the LHD nature just adds character rather than a problem. Saying all this, it is early days so my driving experience to date is probably about 150 miles.

Congratulations sir, we did speak briefly at the wet Stars and Stripes show just after you bought the car I have the almost identical red 19 GS model .
I would check if the transmission fluid has been changed as the auto 8 can have problems especially if the car is left to run in eco mode for a while
I recommend and others do with the auto keeping it out of the eco mode entirely to avoid any future problems and be careful with the wheels on the street in track mode the wheels can crack although I have only heard of this in the States (so far).
Nice looking car but then I am biased ! and I am sure you will have fun with it.

Tinkering with the idea of parting with my c7 grandsport, so is there much interest out there atm? What’s the opinions on a fair price point? 2018 uk , Watkins’s glen grey , data recorder, full ppf, driven under 5k, never tracked or raced. Due to the pandemic I never got to do the European trips that I had planned , so thinking of others toys atm.
Sounds a good spec. Watkins is a great colour too. Is it 1, 2 or 3 LT?
I was in the market and purchased a 2018 GS, UK spec. My budget was £65K for a 3LT. Got the car I wanted. I would say in the £60-65K bracket. May take a while to find a buyer but would hold out. Its a specialist market of course.
