Knebworth - Corvette Nationals...
Discussion
Was really good fun today. Including Brett eating my specially cooked grass burger, Chas trying to make me see my burger AGAIN riding in his Camaro on the driving test and meeting up with lots of people who I hadn't seen for a while.
Couple of other snipets:
Jet powered wheelchair not only very funny but surely an answer to the country's traffic problems.
Two Roll's Royce Merlin engines an effective way to annoy neighbours/blow leaves
Aerobatic plane show enhanced all the more with Sciencebird's predictions of doom (ooh he's going to crash...)
Sorry Shoebag - we missed you, apparently you were going home in an Escort???
Thanks to everyone involved with organising this show - great effort and great fun had our end, cheers!

As a first time participator in a car show/meet it was certainly a fun experience.
Only found a few hours to attend though (a last minute decision mainly motivated by suggestions that it would be a good arena for showing to potential buyers). A pleasant surprise to find that the timing and location both worked for me :-) We were lucky that we got there just before the arena was opened up to vendors.
It was neat to wander round chatting to folks about their pride and joys. In truth the most interesting cars to me were the classics (up to C3's), seeing how much loving care had been put into them. Very impressive indeed.
It was also strange to wander round seeing some of the cars mentioned in postings here in 'real life', eg vetteheadracer's and the one with the flag etc :-)

Thankfully nothing happened, as I was on duty over the weekend and I didn't fancy mixing business with pleasure.
It was great to meet up with some familiar faces and make some new friends too, had a great time.
Didn't know Kenski or Fran were there or I would have said "hello". Anyway, great show and a credit to the organisers who worked for 7 months leading up to the weekend.
It seems that VHR and me were both voted in the top three C5s but unfortuately only one trophy was awarded (to the winner). Thanks to those that voted for us anyway. Winning best paint was a complete surprise as I didn't know there was a category - well chuffed.
