Hi there,
I wasn’t sure where to post this but I thought this would be a good start.
I have an Ultima GTR which runs an LS7 with dry sump.
My oil filter is located on the oil pan still. The thread to which the filter screws on to is removable, i.e it has two different threads, one to mate to the oil pan and the other to take the Delco oil filter (the blue one).
I believe this to not be the norm so I thought I would confirm the pan identity.
I hope you can see the pic, I see the part number as 12596688. Well this doesn’t seem to be a GM part as all the GM pans seems to start 1256xxxx.
Does anyone have any suggestions to which direction I should look?
P.S - are their any LS experienced services in the Southeast? I’m based in Suffolk.
Many thanks
Greg

Long way to go but I use Top Cats racing for mine, based in Aylesbury. Have you looked at Corvette Kingdom in Norfolk?

Most GM sumps I've seen have a male to male nipple for the filter threads.

Is there an actual problem with yours or something ?

Never noticed the bump with a totally different topic.

Any good quality synthetic will be perfectly fine. I like Motul or Millers, although both are probably overkill unless you have very severe usage or extended change intervals

For yhe GTR oil pan you could try asking on corvetteforum.com, there will be a lot of guys who know all parts numbers etc.
Try the C6 Z06/ZR1 section.

As for the oil, I use Royal Purple for all engine gearbox and axles.
Get it from AAS exhausts in Newcastle, UK distributor.

I'Ve got some ls7 pans here. What would you like checking? It's common place to have the threaded adaptor you refer to.
