Morning all,

I hope it is OK to post in here. I have a Corvette drivetrain, it just happens to no longer be in the Corvette....

I have an LS2 and Tremec TR6060 in a Caterham type kit-car. It now needs a full engine rebuild as the original engine builder failed to notice that the upgraded YellaTerra 1.8 rockers were rubbing on the inside of the cylinder head, and lots of shrapnel has been flowing through the engine.

I have caught it fairly early, so the damage is not too bad, but the full rebuild is still required.

I have it all stripped down, and now need:
- A good source of new parts, gaskets, main bearings, cam bearings, rod bolts, head bolts, piston rings etc.
- A knowledgeable forum to read up on what I may be wise to upgrade whilst I am in there, i.e. oil pump, pistons, dry sump, cam-chain, rod/head bolts, harmonic damper etc.
- A good machine shop who can hone the bores, polish the lightly scored crank journals, and balance the whole rotating assembly for me.

Anyone have any recommendations or pointers in these areas? I am happy ordering parts from the US, but would really like to know who is good to deal with from here in the UK. The machine shop really needs to be UK based.

Thank you all,

Martin.

Parts wise I use Keith Beschi at Eurovettes, he does a lot of importing.

Topcats racing do a lot of work with LS series motors, mostly into TVRs.
They run them in their racecars.

As for forums I'm part of the CCCUK which is www.cccuk.org.uk
Also use www.corvetteforum.com
www.LS1tech.com
www.digitalcorvettes.com

There is a lot more, others may chip in.

Dave.

p.s. that will be an animal when it's done.
