Who here owns the fastest Corvette in the UK?

Lol
The reason I'm asking, I'm hoping some of you Corvette big boys can turn up at the Terminal Velocity event www.tv2005.co.uk
We've got some boys from the Viper lot showing interest, and one already paid up.
An F40, ruff porschas, GT2 porschas, hopefully an Enzo, myself, and quite a few other exotic rides.
Its an all-out shootout with plenty of runs for the whole day...
2.1 mile run with a 1.5 mile speed trap - RAC monitored.
All official, so would love to see some of your georgous beasts there ( I have to admit it, the C5 is a sight for soar eyes
)
This isnt a boy-racer event, only exotica and highly 'financed' tuner cars.
But from a standard to standard comparison, will make great magazine reading, as this event will be covered by a few...
So book in as quick as you can, I'm trying to pull in as many 'exotic' marquees as I can, so that we get a good sample of the worlds finest cars there.... NO Fords or Vauxhalls at all - guaranteed!
The slots are going like gold-dust, so book in guys.
A few TVR's will also attend, holding the british flag as usual...
Its not my event, but I want the day to be an awe-inspiring sight for soar eyes, with the finest examples of automotive cutlery on display and roaring down the strip at speeds of 170+....

That counts me out then (Thought I'd better get in before anyone else mentions my Elvington "124mph" run)
Anyway to answer the original question it is obviously TE51CLE unless anyone else has a vid of their HUD at 180mph.

I think my car is the quickest vette to date (until someone beats me) as I have managed 12.2 at 121mph on the 1/4 mile and my son has managed 4.1 0-60mph, all on street tyres with time slips.
Excellent! Book in chap! and bring the corvette lot to support you! No ticket sales on the day though, so they'll have to buy their tickets directly from the website....

Ach, I can beat that (purely based on machinery, not driver ability), as long as I can get above 3mph in London. Surely Mr VHR beats us all?

You sound like a man after my own heart, ile do my best to come along if i can get my car back together in time,it sounds like a lot of fun and its good to have variety of cars available,it can get boring looking at the same marque all the time.

ZR1cliff, excellent, I'm hoping to lure in some other VERY exotic rides too... will make this day a special day for all of us... theres no dB restriction - so music to our ears all day long
I'd book the ticket anyhow, I dont know for sure, but hopefully you can get your money back with 7 days notice if other issues get in the way, have a word with the the event organiser... but only 75 slots, so dont miss out bud...
See you there!!!

James, dont get me wrong, I know what you mean, I'm a regular at Santa Pods, and I've seen them goooooooo....
But...
This is a line-up of exotica... and I can hardly say a Sierra Cosworth is exotic in comparison to the likes of Vipers, Corvettes, Ferraris, TVR's, Porsches.... regardless of how big the turbos are or how much NOS they're pushing through... otherwise we'll get overwhelmed by little fiestas with a 1000hp to boot.... and that kills the exotic line-up...
Cossies, 4-cylinder souped up bangers can stick to their RWYB days over at pods... this event is special in nature, not just about big power, more about exclusivity and the finest marquees....

Hey Pheonix i like what i hear from you ,you post very much like myself ,with your heart on your sleeve and i can tell your passion for autos a mile away but i do walk with James M on the Cosworth.
Ive been fortunate to bump into the owner of the white cosworth on a few occasions,a couple of weeks ago we shared a cuppa and talked about his car, this guy has invested over £50K in his machine and you will never find a guy that is more commited to the tunning world and i feel for guys with cars like him there should be exceptions after all a mile and a half @201mph,i think there's not many vettes in the UK could top that.

Looks like 368 has some competition - hope thats a silver Z06 and not a C5
ZR1Cliff, I see where you're coming from, and I agree from a fellow enthusiasts point-of-view... but...
Do you know how many HEAVILY modified cossies there are out there? A tonne load! If one comes along, there'll be tonnes wanting in, and the exclusive nature of the event will go downhill, turning away certain media attention and certain 'special' cars....
I'm not the event organiser, so I dont speak on their behalf, but I know this much, this event is for exotica - the corvette heritage is spot on, the bruteness of vipers, the curves and finesse of british muscle cars like TVR and Noble, and the technological and engineering marvellry of the german and italian exotica as well as 'some' very special japanese supers...
the event isn't a dragging event.... its a performance event for the exotica market.... and its all on a MOD base, the actions of some numpty chav entrant could endager all of us 'sensible' owners from being able to have an event like this again at this location...
I guess all are free to apply for entry... but getting the ticket might be a different story... the organiser is very selective... the selection is not based on straight-out bhp... that kind of stuff is better left for official dragstrip events... and most exotica owners dont own thier cars just for the 1/4 mile supremecy... its about love for a certain marquee and the pride of exotic ownership... would you swap your vette for a ford escort cossie? Exactly.
If I'm coming across as a defiant snob, thats not true... theres a time and place for souped up cossies and drag cortinas.... and this event isnt it....
Gameplan is for 'heritage' and 'exotica'.... most cars are standard and professional tuner cars like the ruff porschas.... its an all out official event, fun being the stage but sensible in nature, where hopefully many new friendships will form and the barrier of marquee will not prevail, plus you get to enjoy the view of fine exotica.... dont forget, chances are you'll get a moment of glory in the media light too...
I hope a few of you book in quick, a nice cut of vipers and vettes will be superb... someones is trying to get in touch with some new GT40 owner too... fingers crossed...

My baby is now running well as I got it back from tuning today and it is now producing 498BHP and that is just at 9lbs boost, so once we are back from Germany then it will be going back for some more tweeking up to about 15-20lbs which should find the other 100BHP that it should be producing
Definitely put me down for TV2000
