Hi, I know there's a limited number of you out there driving c7s in the uk but I'm hoping for some feedback on any issues with the stock ride height and the bloody humps we have here. Also if anyone has lowered there car as well. Ta

Running my Z51 C7 with the standard ride height, and don't have any problems with humps. The ride height on the C7 is higher than the C6 which was a pain at humps.

That's an interesting fact that I did not know. Certainly got some speed bumps where I live. But also the potholed narrow roads. That's one of the reasons I would go for an auto over the manual. Both hands on wheel job.

I have a C6 Z06 standard ride height and have no problems with
the speed humps round here, even going dead centre over them.

Thx for replies, I'm after c7 info only unless c6 ride height is the same?

Well, I can't speak for where other people are driving but my C7 Stingray can't be taken over most speed humps at more than 10 mph. The smallest humps can be dealt with at about 15 mph.

It possibly grounds slightly less than my C5 used to but that's mainly just the rubber parts. It's still possible to tw@t the metalwork onto a hump, especially if you get that UK road-building favourite, a bit of a dip before the hump.

Care is also needed in sloping junctions or on a driveway which slopes down to the road. Slow speed needed or you'll "plant" the nose.

Thx rockin,that's more like it.

I shall need caution for sure.

I certainly ttted the undeside ot the car on a speed hump in Norwich a few months back.

I believe mine was lowered a little before I got it and after hitting it on a few speed humps I've raised it a bit. I still have to be careful, but then I had to be fairly careful in the C6 too.

My C7 is definitely lower than my C6 was, but don't know the stock ride heights of either. (Sorry)

I'm guessing it only gets worse if you have the stage 2 / 3 aero kits with the larger front splitter sticking out the front! I have a Grand Sport on order and am guessing I'll need to take it very easy with speed humps...

As it Happens I picked the Stage 2 for my C7 I definitely could Not get away with the 3 on my steep Drive .... I approach humps with care and take at an Angle rather than Head on so it doesn't Bump into them but rather 'Saws' gently over if there is contact
I'm pretty confident in mine now if I can get on and off my Drive it's a Winner for me lol
Other than that a line of masking tape and a Cutting Disc to take an 1/8" off the sides (it's not the Nose that contacts and you can't see I have trimmed mine) having said that only attempt that if it has touched it will be obvious where to trim its basically underneath

Ah, ok. What is it that touches then? I saw in some pictures 2 small (maybe 2x8") flaps that hang down behind the front splitter, are they the issue? I'm hoping the C7 will be a little better than my Cobra kit I am coming from... that was about 40mm to the ground where the oil cooler was and I would regularly get a horrible crunch from the front on uneven road (especially if encountered when braking!).... fortunately, nothing ever broke, it just scraped some unintentionally sacrificial bolt heads... :-)

You'd Think it would be Nose first .... but the Centre ..... and the two side protrusions curve up so it's an inch or so to the left and right of the outer protrusions along to about 10 to 12" from Winglets
I used masking tape either side and an Angle Grinder with my cutting Disc and skimmed off an 1/8+ of an inch ..... tapering the tape in to the Design
It misses Road Humps and Not least my Drive
You cannot see it at all from front or sides as these Bulbous bits are basically underneath

Oh and those two pieces you mention are the original Soft Rubber Air spoilers (totally sacrificial they just flap up and over anything)
If like me your fitting say an ACS Stage 2 they Stay in situ you take the bolt (of three) nearest the outer edge of the car out and replace thru a hole in a bracket on the new Splitter
