Hi
Been keeping an eye out for a c6 but a nice c5 z06 which is supercharged has come up for sale.
I just wondered what is the difference between the generations in terms of feel / monderneas.
Want a solid feeling car and heard the c5 can feel a little Tvr ish but with crap interior.
Here is the one in questions.

Any comment on handling also welcome. It is to be a drive to the ring. Round and back car at warp speed
619 bhp does appeal!

Over 600 hp at the engine, I would want proof of that. Most compressor builds don't like to be driven hard on a track, they tend to overheat, look at the stock C6ZR1 and C7Z06, good for the road, not for the track. And yes, there are owners who have no problems, but if you make use of all that power chances are you will run into overheating problems. GM doesn't modify the 2017 C7Z06 cooling because of marketing, it needs to because of the many overheating problems, have a look on the German forum.Been keeping an eye out for a c6 but a nice c5 z06 which is supercharged has come up for sale.

If GM has problems handling the heat with their compressor Corvettes, you must really know what you are doing to improve over that.
Handling wise a standard Corvette C5 or C6 is a very capable car, there are not many drivers who can max out it's potential on the track.
The C6 is the more modern car, every new generation feels more modern, I would go for a well sorted car, C5 or C6, that is up to you.
The problem with tuned cars is that you potentially buy someones else his mess. Installing headers is one thing, a compressor setup is a whole new ballgame. I'm not saying this car has problems, I don't know it, but beware of the potential problems.
Buddy of mine has a Procharged C5Z06 - conversion was done when vehicle was more or less new - it has twin intercoolers but still has a relatively low boost (7 psi I think?) - both the current (and previous owner) do not take any prisoners in terms of using the available performance and the car takes all that is thrown at it!!!! - except the clutch. It seems to be a weak spot - not so much in terms of coping with the power, more the operating hydraulics and release mechanism (which doesn't want to at high revs under boost conditions!) Like the other post commented - where did the HP claim come from - was it dyno'd, proving the claim?
