It's been a while since I sold the Ron Fellows C6 Z06 and I'm looking at acquiring a C7.

Assuming Z51 option ticked, does anyone have knowledge of differences between UK cars (only available from Bauer Millett) and imports, whether US or Euro?

If I go with an import, how is best to deal with any recalls or problems? (I'm near Cambridge.) Does the Stratstone workshop at Wavendon still exist? Any other recommendations for round these parts?

Thanks for all help.

Merry Christmas!

Well having seen them built at Bowling Green, the UK ones have headlight washers, wing mirrors with indicator lights and a fog light in place of one reversing light on the US model. I know the navigation system is different too. Euro imports will have the fog light on the other side. I'm not sure if there are any other differences. If you import from the US you will need to add side repeating indicators and a fog light but they don't have to be the same as the UK (e.g you could just add a repeater to the wing). If it's an import I think you wouldn't have to retrofit headlamp washers under IVA.

Early days yet, but I am thinking of upgrading to a C7 Z06, and would welcome any tips or advice.
In the past I have
1 bought new (z28 from Bauer Millet).
2 .bought an ex demo from American Carriage (C5 Euro Spec ,They sourced it from a dealer in Germany)
3. bought brand new C6 from Corvette Mike in Los Angeles, and arranged shipping and SVA myself.
4. bought used C6 Z06 in the UK .

I have been checking the internet and there appear to be a few new Euro models in stock at dealers in Germany particularly Geiger Cars in Munich.
They are priced around 100 000 euros.
Anybody had experience of buying from Germany and what taxes are payable when it arrives in Blighty.?

While I am on the subject ,which option do I go for.
i won t be doing track days so my feeling is to go for the "base " model or perhaps the "middle" one with the extra spoiler bits and pieces.
i don 't think I need the 707 package with ceramic brakes and "slick" tyres.
Again opinions gratefully received.
Steve

I know the Euro C5 wheels had to sit half an inch more inboard than US cars so had marginally less filled arches and they had quieter exhausts. the Euro C5 and Z28 also had a slightly detuned output, possible for emissions so I don't know if Time has marched on and the cars have become universal.

Steve,
I'm a Brit living in the US and have a C7 Z06 which I picked up in December. Mine is a 2LZ Z07 packaged car with a few other extras. I will be in the US for another 2 years and then intend to bring the car back with me. I didn't go with Navigation as my research led me to believe that it wouldn't work over here and is more like a whole unit change than dropping in a new DVD. I can't really comment on the purchase questions as mine will be a personal import. If you have any questions on the options etc then I am sure I will be able to help you out. I love the Z07 bits but I do intend to put mine on the track occasionally. Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the offer of help, Re. the options on the Z06,
I have been following your story on the thread with interest.
When I sort out which route I go down to source the car I may well come back to with your thoughts on the various options.
Steve
