Dealers won't sell to a non-resident. They have a Franchise agreement which excludes sales for export. If you buy privately [dodgy!] the seller has to provide their EIN number [tax reference number] to US Customs, that puts sellers off non-resident buyers.
I bought from a dealer, who then decided they didn't want to be associated with an export, which created me a whole lot of c**p!!

Try "Corvette Mike".
I bought a new C6 from Mike in Anaheim ,Los Angeles but he now has a franchise location in New England, so shipping costs will be a lot less.
I told Mike the spec and colour I wanted and he sourced it for me.
Because he is nt an official GM dealer he is happy to sell to export.
He will also sort out the shipping if needed.

I used kingstown shipping for my viper along with a few other viper owners. Duty and VAT due before release from docks. Road fund and first registration due at first registration and needs title, iva and HMRC (duty paid) certificates. IVA test fee payable at time of booking test. Timings may vary if you have an agent to do the work for you.

Give Nick at ShipMyCar.co.uk a try, very helpful and have great website which should answer all your questions.
Recently purchased low mileage C6 from New York, they made the whole process stress free.

ShipMyCar arranged the car inspection, they sent me a full report with about 50 pictures of the car, cost was about £125 and was completed within a few days.

Really? That's good service, include car fax checks as well?
