Sold the C6, great car loved it but wouldn't use it that much in winter, so thought I would sell now. I am missing it though.

C7 ordered, I just have to wait until May now, having read all the road test's, watched all the video's, read the owner's manual
it will seem a long time coming. I haven't heard or read anyone saying a bad word about them.

I looked at other car's around the same money
Aston V8 vantage (year old) lovely place to sit but the one I had a road test in, had a sport shift box I found it so poor in auto mode in traffic seemed better when pressing on using paddles.
Although it's a beautiful shape it's getting on a bit now and the view out of the windscreen with the high dash is a little narrow after the C6.
Though not a deal breaker the servicing costs, are on the bend over and touch your toes sir, lube sir that will be extra, side of things, especially compared to a Corvette.
Driving the C6 afterwards I actually preferred it to the vantage.

Love XKR's but they are getting on a bit now and the replacement must be imminent but nice way to travel a good GT.

F type, they look ok but by the time you spec a V8, looking at a lot more money and the boot is so small would struggle to use on a regular basis so that ruled that out.

Was tempted by a 911 but other half vetoed that one, doesn't like them, thinks the shape has never changed, everyone and their mother has one etc but loves the new Corvette.

Looked at the C7 at Bauer Millet, love at first sight, looks better in the metal than any of the pictures and the tech that GM have thrown at this thing, fantastic if you like that sort of thing and I do.

OK probably not as well built as the Porsche or Aston but they are in a different price class 30 or 40K more so you would expect them to be a little better but performance wise the C7 seem's equal or better.(Not that the C6 was ever short of performance)

The interior is better than the C6 but I thought the later C6 was fine in any case, could never understand why it was criticised so much.

A long 20 or so weeks to go and I am excited already.

MAY !!! aarrgghh you will be tearing your hair out.
I have been considering a similar list plus the Porsche Cayman and Mercedes but just cant improve on the vette. My 2001 C5 is getting old, money is not earning anything in the bank, better half loves the new C7 (cyber gray for me), so I think I have to go for it.

Gone for Silver Ice Metallic known as Blade Silver in the states why the change of name no idea.
Carbon package, black nappa leather with suede control surfaces and navigation, transparent roof
silver wheels, don't like the black wheels though they seem very much in vogue.

My initial thought was cyber gray, great colour but having spent many hours deliberating I think the lines of the car look better in the lighter colours
especially with the contrast of the black air grills.
Colour of course is purely subjective and I think the C7 looks great in all colours but for what it offers I think it's hard to overlook if you're in the market for that kind of car.
As you say money not earning anything in the bank, hard to keep up with inflation, although a C7 may not be the shrewdest investment, at least its fun.

It's always later than you think we only past this way once etc go for it.

Congratulations - this is a very nice colour on the C7. Saw it more than one time at US-Dealer shops.

Are you counting the days till May?

Yes indeed, can't come round soon enough.

I have not seen one in the metal in Silver ( or should that be in the composite) just going from photographs, so it is reassuring to hear you have and liked it.
As I said previously seems to look good in all colours though the difference in colours on the different images can be quite pronounced but in any case colour is subjective.

Time will tell, it was really my other half's choice, so i am safe in that respect but in fairness, she is usually good on that sort of thing.

Very unlikely I will be there, no confirmation of a delivery date yet.

I can not seem to get much in the way of information of what is happening, tried customer service in USA they are very good but can not help with European cars.
GM Europe it appears either doesn't know whats happening or couldn't care less with regard to C7 deliveries to their customers, either way they are no help.

I suspect it is due to the small volume destined for the EU and they are struggling to meet demand in the home market, I was reading a post on another Corvette forum where one of the big dealer sales guys was saying he had sold 8 on a Monday afternoon.
If you order from one of the large volume dealers as a US citizen the whole process seems to take around 6 weeks, I ordered mine in the UK November 2014.

Its so different in the US you just enter your order number and you can track your cars build.
Why this is different for Europe no idea, the cars are built on the same line and surely uses the same production control systems so the information must be there.

There is a rumour that my car may be built this month or next, so it seems I may exist as a customer on Bowling Greens systems.
My guess is they will build the European cars at the end of the 2014 model year run when domestic demand eases in anticipation of the start of 2015 MY cars in August.
It could easily be September before I take delivery depending on shipping times.
If all the road tests are to be believed it may be worth the wait.

When/if I receive delivery I will be sure to let you know.
