Weird sounding gearbox...

Seems a waste of what is a sports car, sticking a crappy auto trans in it.

I think they do rpm matching and torque management on the shifts.
But it sounds more like a manual between shifts.

Sounds mean at idle, but really doesn't work for me aurally at higher rpm confused

Edit : just posted this vid on another forum and it was described as a "chainsaw running through a cvt gearbox when he nails it". I can't argue with that.....

Whats the advantage to the torque management on a Auto? Wouldn't the sudden cut in power and then the instant increase in power shock the box more than a conventional auto?

Also will the N2O system have to cut between shifts?

EDIT: forgot to say its a pretty good achievement and a good sign for people looking to get more power out of the LT1! smile

Turn the torque management and traction control off and shorten the shifts. But what are they using to control the PCM?

Normally, or at least all of the drags strips I've been to are straight.

"Custom t"orque converter would suggest it's not a manual...
