After a few months of non Corvette ownership and dabbling with a Mercedes 500SL and putting a deposit down on a Aston Martin V8 Vantage. God eventually shined a light in the form of Bauer Millet with a very nice black C6 Z06. Deposit paid. And hopefully if everything goes to plan pick it up next week.

It did not help. But truth is i had been searching for months since i sold mine without joy.
I gave up hope. The Merc was a car i always wanted to own and to be honest i will be sad to see it go as it is a dream to drive. Then when it came to crunch time i gave up all hope of finding a Vette and put a deposit down on an Aston Martin Vantage. Then come last tuesday i saw the add for the Black Z06 come up and knew i had to have it.

Maybe in the future with some internal work done. But that's about it. From every other aspect i want it to look like a factory standard car.

Congrats bluethunder but is it the 2012 z06 ? if so can i ask why you didnt go for a new stingray instead as surely they are a similar price ?? couldnt understand why bauer millett were trying to sell new 2012 corvettes ( now reg/ ex demos) when the stingray was due in 2013 !

Cheers mate. The car i bought is an 07 car. As for the Stingray. Then maybe Mitch can answer. But as far as i am aware there are no confirmed delivery times into Europe. Let alone the UK.

There is quite a considerable difference between the 2012 Z06 Centennial and a 2014 Corvette Stingray. The fair comparison would be a standard C6 to a C7, with the Centennial being the same spec as the Z06 that posted the 7:22 lap at the ring. There will inevitably pricing crossover between the highest spec models of C6 and the standard C7 for a few years. Depends on what you're looking for I guess. The Centennial is easily the best Corvette I have ever driven......by a long way.

Hi Bluethunder ....I'm back in the fold too....so to speak [on CCCUK I have changed my username to BLACKZ06 formerly KENZ06 with the LeMans Blue C6 Z06 a year or two back...we've swapped photos when I had the windows on it tinted and the Blackout kit fitted as you had done to yours]
I purchased the Black one.... The one discussed on this link .....It has the basis of a very nice car but needed some TLC the rear Hatch was tinted... got it on a Friday.... Saturday morning it had the side windows tinted and was booked in to a 'family owned' Spray Shop that also do Detail Polishing ...so the front was removed as was the back and bonnet set on trestles in the Booth and Sprayed....The next Stage a Multi Process Polishing all over blending in the new paint ...I'll know what its come out like Friday as I get to pick it up .....They say it looks Stunning
[The wheels on this car are Superb New 360 Mesh 8 'Split rim' 20" X 13" rears with new Nitto 345 ZR25 20 Tyres and 19" on the fronts ....Vast!]
I decided to Budget for the GSCreations Blackout kit [only difference this time round the Indicators are the full light fitting rather than an Acrylic overlay....and they have been fitted whilst the car was stripped down ... but after the polish]
I got the Centenary Black front and rear emblems and new Black Z06 mats all off Ebay and sent from the States along with a front plate holder...the Euro size one mounted in a plastic frames favoured by Merc and BMW was actually bonded by Sika Fex to the front left hand side and had to be 'sawed' off it was a 1/4" thick of this Rubber Gasket and then had to be mechanically removed.
Next onto the DVLA for a PP 'V8 K**' V8 followed by my initials basically. The front plate holder is now Centrally Mounted
that's about 13" X 4" and a US size plate for the rear 13" X 7" made from my last cars template which includes the C6 flags
cant wait to see it...I'm going over first thing tomorrow for a little Peek!
You posting some pics of yours?.... I will be on PH'ds and CCCUK If I get a dry Sunny day that is!
Any plans to Mod yours....This is the extent of the Mods on this one ...save possibly the Obligatory Borla! over the Winter Months if I get my Chrissy Bonus LOL
