The idea of the 'pucks' is to keep the jack pad clear of the fiberglass sill, which extends around the chassis under the car.
They hold the jack pads clear of the undersill area and thus prevent direct contact between jack pads and the fragile fiberglass undersill.
BMW pucks will do fine - no need for anything fancy!
PS - be careful of the under car floor area - balsa wood/ carbon fibre laminate panels!

Corvette jacking pucks are available from your local BMW dealer at very modest cost.Jacking pucks are available from e-bay for less than a tenner for 4
