I think it looks stunning in most colours in particular red, but I always say that about Corvettes in red...
My only fear is that people would A. think it's a Ferrari (because it does look like one from many angles imo) and B. You'd get people throwing at you "couldn't you afford a Ferrari?". Twits. Either way I think it looks fantastic and the bits I used to moan about the 5/6 have been totally addressed on this model. Can't wait to see and drive the C7 when it finally gets over here. Very tempted indeed

Now I don't think it looks like a Ferrari in the slightest. My only fear is that people would A. think it's a Ferrari (because it does look like one from many angles imo) and B. The answer to the question you speculate has always been "No, I can't" because that is the reason for the Corvette's success - a half-price Ferrari that looks as good as a Ferrari.
I have always thought the C6 a bland cop-out on the styling (looked a bit wet next to a Sagaris) which this admirably addresses in TVR-esque style.

Just saw a DRIVE video on UTube & the new Z51 looks & sounds mighty impressive! Especially at the price in USA.
Idly wondering that at USD52k in US, that feels like a GBP40k car with shipping to UK & VAT. They're on Autotrader at GBP53-65k. Presumably, the difference is for UK lighting(?) and dealer profit. Does anyone here import these?

I've just done the math on the $52k you quoted and that's around £45.5k landed before the light conversion, test and everything else.
Think I'm right in also saying that figure is for a base car. An official Euro car will be a higher spec. Go spec a US car to the same level and then on compare prices again. Add to that that its first model year so there's bound to be the odd recall or warranty issue. Would you want one with no warranty with such little saving? With the poor exchange rate and 20% vat the days of getting stuff from the states at huge savings is over...... For now anyway.
Yes it does sound good with the loud button on. Still bloody ugly though
The Z06 version holds some hope if it looks anything like this render

I like it and if I lived in US I would be looking for one. Frankly it is true about several American cars. I often travelled there and I hired many of them and I enjoyed but I just don't see me driving one here in Italy, and this is not only because of absurd taxtion on power, insurance related to displacement, fuel costs, increased prices...
I understand, I do often like something different, but it also has to be a little off the radars, it doesn't have to be too flashy. I owned a V8 Vantage mainly because it looked absolutely stunning to me but also because it is very rare in Italy and somehow not so flashy, at least in dark blue color as it was mine. The 911 I had before was not flashy too but for other reasons, it is actually the only sportscar here that manages to be present on the roads in big numbers. There are just a bunch of Corvettes here in Turin, so equally rare to Vantages, but most of them are yellow and its proportions and size (mostly wideness) make it so flashy, it just looks a bit ridicolous to me on Italian roads.
The Corvette I drove in California didn't feel too special to me but it felt at ease on the roads and the engine and handling was so convincing...
