Discussion
Just got back from a week in West Virginia, and one morning in Morganstown there were a couple of C7's in the hotel car park.
They were on Michigan Manufacturers plates so I presumed they were on some sort of road test ,perhaps a US magazine.
I have not particularly liked the shape in the photographs I have seen ,so I hoped perhaps they would look better in the metal/plastic.
I still do not like anything from the rear of the door rearwards. In my opinion the rear quarters are too heavy ,the rear window too small , the small grilles by the side windows look fussy and the rear lights are just wrong!
On the plus side the front looks good as does the interior.
I am hoping the "performance "versions with the wider wheels and lowered stance will go some way to correcting the parts I am not keen on.
Who knows perhaps the Z06 will get a different rear panel with round lights !

So C6 (another) "instant classic" ? Suspect what Mr Ed Welburn of GM was saying at launch is very true i.e. the "persona" of your C7 is very dependent on the colour(s) combinations (exterior/interior/wheels) you choose?
And (if my figures are correct) a UK spec C7 (inc. standard Z51 package) with Nav and met paint will list at £63,545 for a 460bhp/465lbs torque car. I make that 295bhp/298lbs torque per tonne assuming C7 with Z51 weighs 3498 lbs(?). Top of the range Jag F-Type V8 S tested by Autocar last month? 488bhp/460lbs torque, 293bhp/276lbs torque per tonne. Base price £79,995/As tested by Autocar with all the essentials/extras £91,695.
C7 a bit of a bargain then?

Yes. The V8 F-type was tested against cayman s among others in Scandinavian sports car of the year title and lost with wide margin to most. Cayman S was about 2s quicker on Ring Knutstrop (Conf 2). 991 C4S won the test. GT-R was the fasted with 1.09,4. (MP4-12C has record with 1:08.00)GW65 said:
Aside from the price, the main issue for me and many others with the F-type is that it's got a useless boot... The C5/6/7 has been and continues to be practical as well as fast and fun.
As with previous Jaags its natural market will IMO be gentlemen parked outside their golf club.C7 will no doubt be for oiks parked outside their gentlemen's club!
A few members of the CCCUK were fortunate enough to see a German registered C7 press car at Corvette Fame in Holland this weekend.

For the convertible, what has happened to the transmission cooling vents under the rear quarter windows? They seem to have disappeared.
