Thinking about getting a C5 corvette and came across this one: C5

Looks fairly cheap as most are around 15k private, is it worth a punt or is there anything I should be wary of?

Many thanks

FWIW, I know where there is a good condition Silver 2000 C5 Coupe (euro model) that you will get for less than that. A wad of service history with it and 4 new(ish) tyres (runflats). A private sale that has been on e-bay a couple of times, but failed to meet the reserve.

PM if you want to know where it is and before you ask, it’s not mine and I have nothing to gain from the car in question

is that the one based near surrey? silver from memory...

re the C5, i preferred mine to the C6 we owned, bit softer, not as raw, for me it was all the better for it.

Id avoid the 98 model as the ECU was a one off all 99-2004 models use a different common ECU.
If you ever need to modify, replace etc anything then the 98 will be an arse.

Either accept it as stock and forget modifying anything, or go with a newer model.
