Any recommendations?

Slight modification to the above. It should read "Any HELPFUL recommendations"

Some is good.

Hope that helps.

What is good for me may be rubbish for you. And vice vera.
You don't have my postcode, or my driving history, or anything else.

It's really down to you and get on the phone and negotiate.

Will take a few Saturday's to get the lowest price.

Try doing a search on the CCCUK - the responses may be a little more helpful.

It is what is.

But to show I am trying to be helpful.

If you :
- have had your licence for 30 years.
- drive a C6 Z06 as a second car.
- Protected no claims of 10+ years
- 10,000 mile limit.
- Live in my street
- Off street parking
- £250 excess
then on an Admiral multi-car it was an extra £450 onto the existing policy.

For kicks - I've just been comparing Meerkats with my information
Price ranges from £429 through to £8029

Under £500 - 2 quotes
Under £600 - 1 quote
Under £700 - none
Under £800 - none
Under £900 - 1
Under £1000 - 2
Under £1100 - 5
Under £1200 - 0
Between £1300 and £1800 - 3
Between £1800 and £2500 - 10
Over £2500 - 4
Over £8000 - 1

Change the excess values a little - and very different numbers come out.
Change the postcode to my old place - and the figures ago crazy.
Some of the cheaper insurers become the more expensive ones and vice versa.

Change the postcode again - to a quiet little village in the middle of nowhere - and the price drops.
Change the postcode again - to a former slum area in a big city - and the car is almost uninsurable.

Add my wife - some prices go down - others go up.

Hope the information is somehow useful to you.
But I really can't see how it is.
It really does come down to your unique situation.

Advertisers in a recent copy of CCC magazine are:
Adrian Flux ( Flux direct quoted £942 above )
Stevenage Insurance
Heritage
Lancaster

EDIT: Started putting in some of my old places - and I'm now up to £11,000. Flux Direct quoting £5312.
Going to make a cup of coffee - Would like to see if I get an insurance quote worth more than the car.

Ok guys I thought asking for "any recommendations" was fairly plain and obvious but I must be wrong.

Of course I understand that everyone is different and that age, driving record and car make a massive difference. All I was asking was if there is a good company the corvette community favour. I know when I had my Noble that Admiral multi car was heavily used by the community. I have also discovered that they don't cover classic cars.

I will call a few that I know prior to making any decisions about purchase.

The car will most likely be a pre 76 C3.

Thanks for the input everyone.

As mentioned above join the CCCUK. Club schemes that have received positive feedback arer Flux, Heritage and Hagerty. I've personally used the latter for the past three years which has included a change from C3 to 4. Great bunch of guys, always a pleasure to speak to on the phone.

Hope that helps.

For what it's worth, I just insured (as a club member, which is important fo rmany of these) - with Stevenage Insurance Services. Great thing is that after an annoying pre-recorded message the phone has always been answered by one of two members of staff with no holding, sorted things out a treat for me at a good price, with reasonable terms.

I was with them a few years ago too.

I used to insure my 75 c3 with aon for years and years but started to climb, jumped over to hagerty last year and I pay from memory about £120 a year, age 40, wife on policy agreed value of £14k, Adrian flux fir me have not been good with the older stuff but I have 3 policies with them for newer stuff, Brabus smart car, dodge challenger SRT8 and grand voyager and for those they beat everyone hands down, but as above areas and history play a part.

I was insuring my Lambo on a classic policy with Hagerty for past few years, but this year both RH and Classicline bettered Hagerty by some margin. I went with Classicline who were a whopping £230 less than Hagerty with the same agreed value, 500 miles more per year than Hagerty, cherished salvage etc. Plus they didn't require membership of the Lamborghini Club which saved me a further £72 as I wasn't personally getting anything out of being a member. So I would recommend giving Classicline a try.
http://www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/ If you want more miles on your policy though, RH may be better.

As an aside, I recommend joining the Corvette Club. I was a member for years when I had my '77 and '72 Vettes, and rejoined last year as soon as I got my '98 Pace Car. It's a superb club, well worth £35 a year, and there are local groups throughout the UK.

I use classicline for my C3 and comes to about £220 a year. Mine is modified and I'm only 30, so if you are looking at standard cars and are older then you may get it for less than that.
