Hi all, I'm tearing what little hair I have left trying to identify which part number for the serpentine belt for a 1992 LT1, and also the best place to order one please? I've tried to research this honestly but such a diversity of part numbers etc, seems a bit of a minefield? Regards Jay

Take the old one off and take it to a local motor factors. Shouldnt be that difficult to get a new one.

Did a quick Google

"The GM part number should be 10186198 and the AC Delco belt is 6K802 "

Hope that helps.

Gates belts should do the equivalent one.

Contact Keith Besci, he may well have one. You'll have to email him as he's working abroad at the moment.

If the 6K802...is standard part number. It should be 6PK802, ie 6 rib, PK v-section and 802mm long.

However, if that is American they could do the length bit in inches. Maybe 80.2 inches ie 2037mm.

802mm is a pretty short belt. PK is standard automotive ribs.

Okay, I've got the double sided drive belt, no joy getting one locally, including my local Chevrolet dealer (stunned to hear Chevys now come from Korea???) so ordered one on line from US.

Also ordered new gear wheels (in "aluminum") for the headlights as one side is clunking

Now stuck on brake discs and pads, any ideas for suppliers?

Regards

Jay

Hi, are you sure the one you have ordered has grooves on both sides? App they have pictures showing grooves on both sides but they are only grooved on one side, the ones grooved on both sides are unobtainable, I got my belt for my 92 LT1 from Dart Corvette who gave me this info and I fitted one which only has grooves on one side, it has been on for 10k miles with no probs, have a spare just in case tho!!

Hi, yes I cross referenced the original part number, and on their ad they gave the part number for the one sided belt to prevent confusion

A good source of parts for C4 and C5 is Keith Beschi of Eurovettes. Thouroughly nice and helpful chap. Could have got you the belt easily enough too.

Surely any decent motor factors or bearing/power transmission shop would have got you a belt ? It is just a belt after all.

Hayley Bearings, Eriks etc

Either way, as long as you got one.

Yeah I'm sure you're right, but I was given the impression they were unobtainable so I kinda panicked and got one from the States
