no that's not the question I've got but it IS a short article in this weeks Autocar mag... I appreciate it's horses for courses and for some people being seen in a new BMW means a lot but one of the bits in the 'cons' implied the 'Vette would depreciate quicker than a new car? Seriously WTF??

If I were spending £33k I know where my money would be going - and it sure as hell wouldn't be going into the dressed little turd of a BM frown

C6 is a sports car.
1M is a sports car if you close your eyes.
[My fail ]135M is an understeering coupe.(but with proper suspension work could match 1M)[/My fail ]

What actually has happened in Finland is that prices of Corvettes are rising constantly. This because C02 taxation; it is more and more expensive to import car in Finland and therefore value of used Corvettes and other wanted high CO2 cars rises.(maybe not what they had in mind when making the legislation)

EDIT: I actually thought you meant the old 135 coupe. New 135M hatchback is great fun for what it is.

Not 'bigging-up' the very latest BMW One Series 135 (and being an 'early' Vette owner) I chose a 184 bhp 120D Sport 8 speed auto as my daily leased company car on the basis of ultra low personal tax and nippy inner city performance. When having it serviced I took a new 135 6 speed manual out for a 'test' drive. Yes it is built 'down' to price in certain areas (although leather is standard) but nevertheless it is in fact a very well sorted car with nice supple suspension and good handling. I can believe reports that 8 speed auto version is very close to a M3 in terms of performance and handling. An alternative to a new Vette, perhaps no - a relatively inexpensive high performance everyday hatchback, certainly yes indeed!
