I have a '99 Euro C5 with a non functioning speedo. The PCM has been subjected to the acid test by a previous battery, so without opening it I sourced a s/hand one in the States flashed to my VIN. I can't get this PCM to learn the Theft Deterrent Key, I have tried 5 or 6 times so I'm assuming the PCM flash is bad.
Does anyone in the UK flash PCM's on a postal basis ?
I took the original PCM apart, cleaned the rubber seal and reassembled it, the internals didn't look damaged by the acid, bolted it back on and the car is fine with no codes apart from the VSS signal being absent and no speedo.
I have had a lot of help from a couple of guys on the Corvette forum, here is a link to it, http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-tech/3216370-he... it explains the problem and what has been tried to fix it in much more detail.
I need some help!

When flashing onto a new ECU the flash needs to be set to relearn VATs.
Where are you based? If you are near Herts PM me, I can trigger a vats relearn, or disable vats etc.
Only issue is no bench harness so you would need to rock up with both ecu's..
