Use the paddles - it'll avoid you being caught out by kick-down if you floor it...and you'll start off in 2nd by default so again it'll be a bit smoother.

You don't need to worry about cops either. It's well known that they turn a blind eye to foreign tourists driving rental cars like lunatics.

Oh they can still bite when you're least expecting, that's part of the fun.

Tune it.
Thrash it.
Dont smash it.
Return to stock.

I had a c6 rental in California a year ago. Made use of the power as often as I could (although very rarely exceeding the speed limit - the acceleration is a hoot though!) and never felt like it was about to kill me (unlike the Camaro I had in Florida).

Every corner feels like the speed limit is far far too low!

Every stop light is a grand prix start!

Use the paddles - far more fun that way.

Enjoy all the looks you will get - all the attention I had was very positive (except from one Mustang driver).

A Corvette in California is huge fun - if you don't have a smile on your face driving it (or looking at it, thinking about driving it, remembering where you parked it, etc, etc) there is something wrong!

Have fun - smile loads - your gonna love it and yourself!

Whatever you do, don't turn the steering wheel more than 20 degrees either way.
If you do - the car will roll over several times and explode.
Honest - I have seen it in the movies. It'll kill you given half a chance.

Seriously - If you drive like a t*** expect bad things to happen.

Just enjoy the car. Drive normally and you will have a fun time.
And get some pictures.

That makes no sense at all.

In our Z06 we got, large tent, bed, 2 cookers, spare gas, table, sleeping bag, pillows, linen etc, 2 chairs, stove stand/cupboard, camping wardrobe, 2 full size buckets with car cleaning suff, case with enough clothes to see us both through Le mans week and a week in the Pyrenees, hiking boots, very large camera rucksack, tent carpet, cooking ware, lights, cool bag, fridge and probably a load more stuff Ive forgot to mention. All that still went in there with the screen across.

You will be well over your luggage allowance before you arrive with too much stuff to fit in a C6 coupe. Now a ragtop would be a different matter.

Fact is it has a huge boot space. Useful if you actually use the car smile. Even got my race bike in there before as well
