How hard can it be. Is it just a case of missing bulbs or is a case of them being deleted through the Cambus?.

Are you talking about a car that was built for Europe or a U.S. import?

I would like to think that it will be that easy. But I think with the Cambus system that is operated on the C6 then it's a bit more involved.

If I have understood the question, hopefully Mitch is going to say that on a UK/Euro spec C6, the front orange side marker is just a reflector (unlike a US spec car) i.e there are no bulbs. Thats the way it is on mine.

So your saying all I have to do is install the bulbs as V10 said??? I thought with the canbus it was a bit more involved than that.

I had actually misunderstood the question but I am now guessing you mean the front and rear markers? I will ask my electronic technician how he would go about it. I doubt it will be a programming issue as the ECU has a number of country settings and the Europe setting will most likely deactivate these lamps. I would expect it would be a case of taking a feed from somewhere else....

I'll ask the question.

BlueThunder - Did you get this sorted out/resolved? As above, on my Euro spec car, the front orange side markers function only as reflectors. No bulbs in there, or if there are, disabled by the electronics. The rear orange ones come on as running lights when you turn the lights on.

Thanks Adeyb, What function (or combo of functions) do the front ones on you car perform (e.g 1) Side marker light when lights turned on 2) Indicator 3) Hazard warning 4) Daytime running lights?

Reason for my confusion is that when I bought my Euro spec C6 in Feb, I had the lights changed to UK pointing/spec lights. I hadn't noted the functioning(s) of the orange side marker lights before taking it to the garage for the changeover. When I got it back/checked the lights a day or so later, I noted that the front ones did not function. Thinking the worst (i.e. they had forgotten to reconnect them when changing the headlamps) I spoke to the garage. They said that they are only relectors/non functioning on a UK/Euro spec car.

This seemed to be confirmed by the following:

Having said that, I have seen adverts for Euro spec cars where the front side markers are either functional, or it is just the reflection from the camera flashlight in the photo(s). Any comments/help to put my mind at rest much appreciated.

Really sorry for making you type that! I've just started my car up and the fronts ARE NOT lit, the rears are on when the lights are on, bit gutted ive ordered the Oracle LED ones from the states only last night, I'll get it up and running though, let me know if its just a programming issue or a fuse pull or something if you find out.

cheers!

No problemo Adeyb/You put my mind to rest/Good start to the weekend. Mitch is obviously the expert on this. Guess my question would be - Why would you want to make the front ones (LED) functional? Will it get through the MOT like that? Look forward to "dribbling" over your RF edition sometime laugh But don't want to see this again.

I have a U.S spec C6 where all the marker lights work. My question was in relation to a UK car i am interested in. I have spoken to a number of specialists. And opinion veries from simple bulb removel to being "dialed" out through the canbus system.

Mark, I still don't understand your question which is how to "reinstall" the side marker lights on what we now know is a UK/Euro spec car? I see that you own/are selling a US import C6 on here. If the front marker lights function on that one (daytime/night running lights only?) that's still the US set up/configuration, as far as I can see (see above link).

So if we agree that a UK/Euro car front orange side markers are reflectors (non-functional) only, there is nothing to "re-install." Nothing has been "un-installed"/that's the way they are meant to be? Or are you trying to make them function like a US spec/you current car?

Obviously the the rear side marker lights on a UK/Eur spec car should function as above. Hope I got this right/does that help?

I just prefer it to look as it should have done when it was made. Personally i think the marker lamps look better. I did trhe same with my old Hummer H2 But that was a simple matter of replacing bulbs.
