Viper in hedge at the Fairmile
Discussion
Sadly not, When leaving the Fairmile Mike had cold damp tyres and when he hit second the back end got loose, when correcting it bite and sadly sent him sideways through a few trees and into the ditch, Mike and his son were ok just such a shame the night ended that way but the main thing both were ok, car had to be low loadered out of the ditch which thankfully went well and no further damage was done to the car and it was back at his house by 1.15am this morning, such a shame.
Glad they both got home without a visit to the hospital, I saw plod there with blues flashing so I hope no fines/points were collected. I guess Mike is assessing the damage in the daylight right now, hope its not too bad. It was nice to meet him and his son last night, and I hope it doesn't stop them coming again.
The police were good as gold very helpful and at no point were they pointing the finger or any such attitude, they felt for Mike as we all did and were extremely helpful, car was removed without any further damage which was a blessing, to be honest when we got it back the damage was mainly cosmetic and he got off very lightly, but as you know until you pull it apart it is difficult to tell but the cills were intact, small crack to the bonnet and slightly out of line, no air bags gone off, no wheel damage, no leaking fluid, suspension looked ok, it will just be a case of seeing under the bonnet and seeing what has moved where the bonnet was out of lign, only time will tell.
