C7 Leaked Bumper Video
They thought they were showing a video of a C6 Corvette Bumper, unfortunately it's the next generation C7 Corvette.

If its real, it looks like they're going with 'Camaro Style' rear lights. I know not every generation of Corvette has had the round rear lights, but its kind of iconic and might be a shame to lose, but then again I've hated every new BMW design when they've been released and two years later realised that BMW were a few years ahead of me so I'm more than likely wrong.
The Jalopnik rendering looks like a nice car, its doesn't scream Corvette to me though, More the product of a gang bang between a Celica/Nissan GTR/New Camaro with a bit of Jaguar XK thrown in.

Yes a little birdie did tell me you were "positioning yourself" Good on you Steve, I guess the shape of the C6 has grown on you over the years because the C7 looks like an edgy version of it and not the rounded rump of a C5.
So this must be yours? http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/4056995.htm
It really is one of the cleanest examples I've seen and is in the correct Vette colour - red! If you want me to pop around and take some images for you to load on the advert let me know Steve.
I can't wait to see it either - not sure a ZR1 version will be too soon but a Z06 should be within a year or two I hope, by which time I should have had enough fun out of my yellow banana.

I see you have added the images for your car Steve. They don't do it justice - it looks even better in the flesh! Pity they didn't do the C6 originally in Torch Red too - much brighter than the victory red. I don't suppose your car will be around too long.
You will then be Corvetteless for at least a year - maybe more! !!!

Why is everybody so down about the camaro's LED lamps? There's nothing wrong with them......
Out of personal experience: I waited for the EU version to be in Geneva before ordering mine... When I actually saw it, I was pretty disappointed as to what they did with the rear lights. It looks unfinished to me. Probably would have looked better if the LEDs weren't so exposed (let's say a red "cover" glass à la 2012 Dodge Charger).Combined with the truck size mirrors, it was enough for me to order a US spec anyway...
Well I actually like the LED tailights as they look 'higher rent' to me than the standard lamps. Leaving them uncovered is, I believe, GM's way to make them more prominent as many manufacturers work on the belief that LED lamps are a premium spec item, so they should be shown off. I doubt a red lense would do the indicator lamp colours much good either.
As for the mirrors, they aren't ideal but you have to blame the EU for that. Would it have been cheaper for you to order a Euro car and a set of mirrors than get a car from the US? You may even have been driving it by now.

Hehe, well... it definitely would have been cheaper to buy European spec, indeed... But that would have defeated the point of having a Bumblebee replica. To get the bodywork I wanted, I had to order an SLP ZL585, and then add the ACS Composite bumper. IF I had found a company that did the "shaved door handles", and the relocation of the gas cap, I'd have had that done from the start too... (something on the do to list now).As for the mirrors, they aren't ideal but you have to blame the EU for that. I did opt for other rear lights then the standard ones though, as I really like the afterburners from the concept Camaro...
Oh... it should pass it's IVA next week, it already went but failed due to me failing to inform where to find the chassis nr, and having too much wheels outside the bodywork at the rear (temp mudflaps should have been installed today).

It's more than the lights. It's the whole rear and back quarter treatment. It looks like if you mod'ed a Camaro for GTP racing, it would look like that. Nothing really wrong with it other than it doesn't look like a new generation of Corvette. We Yanks that that car rather seriously - although I don't really like it's weight, size, pushrod engine (that's a total loser), interior quality or the dealer network. Other than that, I'm a die-hard Yank and love the car
Does it count having an LS7 in my Ultima?

It doesn't sound like you are much of a Corvette fan. I think it's hard to look at one particular factor in isolation as many of them are connected. Size/weight are always related but this can have a bearing on what sort of power the chassis can tolerate. A Lotus Exige might be lightweight but they don't do a 640Bhp model do they? Is a Z06/ZR-1 not fast enough for you?The one that really surprises me is that you say you don't like pushrod engines. Pushrod engines might be simple but they have benefits. Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini aren't running a 100,000 mile major service interval on any of their engines last time I checked. I am privileged enough to have an Alfa 8C Spider with the 4.7 V8 (450Bhp) that is now used in the Maserati Gran Turismo S and whilst it is a lovely car to drive it develops significantly less torque than a Z06, is much higher maintenance and achieves half the fuel economy. Given the LS7 is a 'primitive' pushrod engine it seems strange that in the real world it beats its Maserati cousin at every turn. Maybe technological advancements aren't always what they seem?
Interior build quality has been discussed at length and I have never experienced the dealer network so I will leave those alone. Maybe you just have appreciate Corvettes for what they are and be glad that they aren't simply trying to emulate European manufacturers.

...... and that's why I sold an Audi R8 V10 spyder and drove off in a new ZR1. I've done more miles in my Z in 3 months than I did in almost a year of the R8. Had a lot more smiles too..... The last Ferrari I had blew the gearbox up in the first month and together with all the other bits that went wrong cost the supplying dealer £18k in repair bills before he gave it back to me. Except he didn't - he gave me my money back and I drove off with my first Corvette and a new Porsche. Lovely.
